Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kimbo Rose Sorabella. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kimbo Rose, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?
Although each child and student is different and entitled to their own unique up bringing, family traditions, values and personal experiences. I believe wholeheartedly that allowing dialogues about the association between the external and internal influences that affect health and wellbeing can enhance our children’s understanding of what happiness and health look like. For example, being healthy is not just the food on your plate. Not just, making sure that you get three meals a day (which some families can’t afford) and that you are eating whole fruits vegetables greens. It’s also about making sure that you have tools to believe in yourself to repel negativity and negative’s influence on your personal development. Seeing yourself as a powerful being that can make life better with proper training of stress management, healthy friendships, self confidence and to see the truth behind these qualities. Health is being to look like products that are sold instead of inner strength and peace with looking inward for critical change. Understanding that enhancing your relationship with yourself with lifestyle medicine can bring out the greatest impact of children’s potential mentally, emotional and physical.

Kimbo Rose, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My story begins in a touring van. As a lead singer of a folk punk band called Absinthe Rose. When I was on the road, I understood the importance of staying calm and focused even though I was suffering from deep anxiety. I was also on one hand flowing my dreams as a recording artist while also deep breathing under a tree holding stones praying to the universe to allow my confident to soar and mask my fears. The reason why I share this story is because being able to harness tools like meditation and mindfulness completely transforma me into the woman I wanted to be. Releasing negative doubt I was born into. Being able to visualize the songs rehearsing the feelings of feeling proud. My Nutrition knowledge back then was definitely not what it is now. When I was younger and working at a tattoo shop called custom bodyguard in Medford, Oregon getting tattooed allowed me to deep in my relationship with Meditation even though at the time I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was I’m not gonna squeal, I’m not gonna move and I’m gonna breathe through this pain. This lesson allowed me to harness the ritual of tattooing, but also and more importantly introduced meaning to meditation. When you’re on the road pursuing your dream, being healthy is essential. Not only do you not want to play in adequately or sound as though you’re not rehearsed. I wanted to make sure that when we showed up, we were not only polite and professional that we put on one hell of a show. If you are sick and you have to miss a show the guilt of canceling a show is unbearable, but also not being able to pay your band Because of your inability to listen to your body. Take rest eat well and do what you can to properly prepare for the road. This experience propelled me into attending institute of integrative Nutrition. After graduation, I started my own business “Whole Rose Nutrition” in 2018. I found myself working everyday towards helping others in a new movement a new stage, a new sound. The sound of listening to my body, uncovering the limited range of emotions and thoughts. Being able to understand how my body operated. After meeting My Husband Brad at STC, Boxing and Fitness after graduation, we collaborated with lifestyle medicine. Exercise and nutritional guidance. I knew I had made the best decision of my life attending IIN school. What I learned on the road, I implemented in my programs. I serve my community the athletes at Stc boxing and many people of all ages in early recovery. I offered virtual and in person facilitated groups and even did some seminars at the gym. Speaking health into existence and allowing people to understand no matter where you come from lifestyle medicine. Will allow you to enhance your life with free modalities. You don’t have to be rich to be healthy, even though we all participate in promoting different products and or having influenced programs, I am not one to pretend I don’t work with companies I believe in. After being years in the business, I was feeling not good enough to pursue a deeper level of Nutrition. I had become a USA BOXING trainer and spent all my time incorporating what I learned. What happened next was something I had put on my goal sheet, but deep down had no real intentions of succeeding only because the doubt of my ability came in real strong. But I said to myself, comfort is boring and I’m far from basic. One of my best friends had taken her life into attending IIN coaching school. I had enrolled in a practicum from IIN to sit for the National board for health and wellness. The BIGGEST fear was my failure. When I was younger, my biggest dream was to make records and go on tour and spread the message of my lyrics. As I grew older, I understood the importance of inner peace and strength. It’s cultivated through health and wellness. I studied hard every night every day. The day of the test came I had so much anxiety. I had to breathe in a paper bag. I was sweating so much. I had to take off my shoes. When I left the testing center, I was unaware of how I did. I waited over eight weeks for the test results. Feeling as though I was a failure I carried that around for weeks . But then something miraculously happened I passed. I became what I always wanted and dim and allow fear to stand in my way from signing up from studying and from giving it all. My threshold for my goals has enhanced and to think this was a pipe dream something I wrote down to give a try. Simultaneously, I also enrolled in Harvard’s executive program for lifestyle medicine and sustainable meal plans. This dedication I have for understanding health and wellness allows me to create a community of understanding.
If I didn’t believe in myself, I couldn’t believe in others. If I didn’t have the confidence in others, I couldn’t conduct the business I do. I create tailored programs for individuals from all backgrounds, including vegan non-vegan sober, sober, curious moms, young athletes, and people with chronic disease.
I do my best to be as authentic as possible to listen more than I speak. To take my training to the next level and to give gratitude every day, I wake up. I am most proud that even when the fear seemed to have taken the front seat. Taken over the GPS and the radio. I was still able to stay on my path to give it my all and a show up with fear in my heart. My brand is authenticity. Being exactly who you are, whether you are colored hair covenant, tattoos, whether you have come from a family of a fluent luxuries or like me poor and broke with an empty fridge. Lifestyle medicine allows you to enhance your life. We have 24 hours in a day. No one gets more than that. No one can take away your dreams. They live in you for a reason. Pursue them quiet the noise find a tool that allows you to give yourself credit. Find friends then enhance your life. Stop justifying. Bad behavior. And get educated about your inner self. You will be amazed by how much love you carry.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Keeping in touch with my clients through email and text support has been one of the best decisions I made. When I check in, I don’t always go for the throat regarding payment or results. And make sure to evoke and engage with my clients asking them not only things that correlated in their personal life. What they might’ve shared through the consultation of past failures and successes. I want my clients to know that I genuinely care about their well-being and their progress. I asked permission before I offer my opinion regarding what they should do.
When I introduce somebody who might be interested in working with me, especially in person I make sure to ask him a couple questions regarding their goals and or things who have worked in the past and why they might wanna work with me. And doing so I allow the first initial conversation to be about how I can support their growth. After that when I see them again, I’ll give them a fact or something that could help for an example. I had a woman who was suffering from gut health issues after being under great stress for six months as she was moving across the country. We had done a meditation prior to our first coaching session, and I had offered her space to share her frustrations Sometimes listening can enhance your relationship. I do not believe health and wellness is what’s on your plate, I believe there are so many factors of what makes a good business. Stay authentic stay in touch. Be honest and hold space even if it’s uncomfortable.

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
I give birth 23 days after everything shut down from Covid. Our business close the doors for the first time since 2012 on April 4. Our daughter was born. We were home and doing zoom workout to keep our community together. My husband worked tirelessly to keep updated regarding reopening and policies stated by the CDC regarding facilities, especially gyms. My husband and I spent hours a day cleaning and sterilizing the gym before Covid but now all eyes were on us and the fear of sickness was everywhere. I feel as though they might say if your relationship survives over seven years it’s gonna last forever in my opinion if your business has to survive Covid, you can get through anything. We had to take down heavy bags make more room more space dedicate more time to education, sterilization, and making sure our clients were comfortable and safe while also harnessing their goals to be healthier gain muscle, loose fat, and regain some normalcy in Covid era.
This was a close call when we reopened. We had to rebuild our clientele as a lot of people moved into home workouts. We did our best to make sure each and every person who came into the gym, especially if they were new Were treated with the upmost respect and dignity, and had understanding of our protocols and policies regarding safety.
My Husband and I didn’t know what the next step was but we pursued it. We repainted we updated programs we wanted people to come and know that we’re in this together. Luckily, with this dedication to our community, we have regained our membership and are always looking for more ways to be community based and helpful to those in our area.
