We were lucky to catch up with Kimberly Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kimberly, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Looking back, what’s an important lesson you learned at a prior job
I technically started working at the tender age of 10. My title? “Mini-Manager” at my fathers establishment in Atlanta, GA. I was like his little shadow, following him around to absorb as much knowledge of the business as I could. For this reason I was able to receive both “front of house” and “back of house” training. Even at that age I understood the importance of providing exemplary customer service….to both internal and external customers.
Every position I’ve held in my real working life has been customer service based, and each position has taught me HOW to be a customer. With that being said, a couple decades of experience under my belt has also taught me the old adage “the customer is always right” is in fact, wrong. I have also learned that sometimes you have to “fire” a customer. It’s a rare and unusual situation, but sometimes it’s necessary.
When interacting with a customer I tend to go above and beyond just providing a product, and I attribute that to being a customer and having tons of customer service experience. I want your whole experience with Yimmy’s to be nothing less than sensational.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My story is short and sweet; as many of us tend to do, I lost myself within my wifely and motherly duties, became comfortable with my profession & bi-weekly pay, and could never find the time to explore my creativity. There was always an excuse…until one day there wasn’t. At that point I found myself with all the time in the world to explore that creativity.
Yimmy’s Armoire is a natural handcrafted soap company that was created to help take the guesswork out of what we are using on our bodies. I started by creating natural handcrafted bars of soap and have since expanded to include several products including body scrubs, bath bombs, bath salts, and bath truffles. Each product is sprinkled with lots of love, and handcrafted to perfection. We spend so much time working, running errands, and taking care of business and family members that we often forget to indulge. Treat yourself!

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth advertisement from current customers and vendor events. Your best advertising is through word of mouth…your current customer has seen, held, used, and tested your product, and if they love it they’ll tell the next person.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Everyone has to start somewhere. And while I don’t have tens of thousands of followers, I have managed to gain a nice little following of real people that interact with me. I was taught to follow other businesses in my niche, post at least five times a day, use appropriate hashtags, respond to each comment, hop in DM’s to advertise, and create relatable content.
