Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kimberly West. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kimberly, appreciate you joining us today. Do you manage your own social media?
Yes, and there are several strategies and tools, that I use to manage my social media accounts. First, I start by taking a look at the PR (and marketing) calendar to view the trends for the year.
Next, I actively create a content calendar for the entire month. This is vital to provide the appropriate marketing outreach and keep my audience connected to the brand/business.
My favorite social media tools are Hootsuite of Meta Business Suite. Initially, all of the graphics were developed in-house but after time, I contracted a Graphic Designer or utilized the Canva platform.

Kimberly, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am an on-air television personality, consultant, and digital influencer with a B.S. in Apparel Merchandising, an M.S. degree in the field of Family Consumer Sciences, and graduate-level coursework in Public Relations For Digital Media.
As a CEO and Founder, I wanted to help businesses (and individuals) build a credible brand that their customers could trust.
The best strategy to do this while increasing sales is by creating a reputation that proceeds daily business operations.
With a love of the fine arts, intense interest in digital media, and passion for people, all of those components helped me lay the foundations for creating the Kimberly West Agency!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What served as an aid in building my reputation was the ability to use the phrase, “Under deliver and over-promise.” This concept has laid the foundation for how I interact with my clients and professional network. So often, we encounter exchanges with business professionals that result in limited outcomes. Due to my internal value system and personal beliefs, I did not want my agency to come to such standards.
Now, this can also entail being honest in the most unforeseen circumstances but ultimately, I like to be a woman of her word.
In addition, those in my industry and beyond are able to see (or witness) tangible results through analytics, data, and even visual displays.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media with the use of several metrics. First, I analyzed the market to understand the type of content my unique audience wanted to see or even engage with. Secondly, having an aesthetically appealing profile was a priority for my platform. This was done with the use of branding such as understanding the use of colors, fonts, and wording.
Lastly, my ultimate goal with the business-related social media accounts was to showcase the work of the agency. As the Founder, I am a firm believer in sharing how my clients are shining or their most recent developments.
Although I am the owner, my agency is ultimately here to service my clients. The Kimberly West Agency wants those in the community to be informed through social media about upcoming events, recent spotlights, and new services.
