We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kimberly Thomas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kimberly thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
In 2019, I took a significant risk by becoming a full-time entrepreneur in the health and wellness industry after being fired from my job as an insurance agent. At that time, I had been working my business part-time, but losing my job forced me to make a pivotal decision. I chose to have faith and fully commit to my business. Looking back, I truly believe that getting fired was God’s way of leading me into my purpose. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Getting fired turned out to be one of the best things that happened to me. It really worked out for my good. It was the trial that pushed me into full-time entrepreneurship, and five years later, I’m still doing what I love. All glory to God. I thank God for blessing me with an amazing husband who supported me in my decision in going full-time in entrepreneurship, which was crucial during the transition. There were definitely moments of doubt and times when I wanted to give up. But my faith in God and the belief that He had a greater plan for me kept me going during those times. I continued to trust the process that He allowed me to go through.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello everyone,
I am Kimberly Thomas, a devoted woman of God, wife, and mother. My faith in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, guides every aspect of my life. My husband and our son are my greatest blessings. I love to serve. I strive daily to serve God’s people with love and joy.
In 2019, I ventured into the health and wellness industry, initially as a product influencer with Total Life Changes. I fell in love with their products and also got some amazing weight loss results which inspired me to share them with those around me, leading to significant success and an opportunity to serve many people.
In 2022, I felt called to expand my impact and founded my own holistic health brand, Holistic Health and Healing. Our focus is on distributing herbal detox drinks and various vitamins, while also educating others on practical ways to build a healthy lifestyle. We emphasize the importance of spiritual, physical, and mental health, advocating for a daily routine that incorporates spiritual disciplines, health regimens, and soul care practices.
Our approach is unique in that it addresses the whole self—mind, body, and soul. This holistic system works for everyone. The Lord revealed this to me during a particularly dark season of my life. The Lord guided me through that challenging time, equipping me to help others become healthier and more balanced in their lives.
I am forever grateful for the privilege to serve and support God’s people in their journey toward holistic health. Daily consistency and discipline, combined with unwavering faith, are the keys to achieving a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
I can only speak from my personal experience on what has been most helpful. The key to my success in the health and wellness industry has been submitting my business to God. I’ve embraced stewardship, recognizing that God has entrusted me to manage the business He has blessed me with. This means I must be accountable and manage it according to biblical principles.
Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].” This means first submitting and trusting God with everything that we do and allowing Him to lead us. The key is to be obedient, taking it one step at a time, and then God produces the results. When our work aligns with God’s will, success follows.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A great lesson I learned was to unlearn the hustle culture mentality. Hustling your way to success can lead to burnout, exhaustion, and possibly depression. There was a time in my journey when my only focus was on achieving success and hustling to reach the next level. I would accomplish one goal and immediately start planning for the next, constantly rushing my success.
Of course, God wants us to work hard and achieve our goals, but we must discern whether these goals come from God or ourselves. We must discern whether if we are doing it in His strength or our own strength. There was a turning point when God forced me to take a break to reset and realign myself with Him, which was much needed. God wants us to live from a place of rest, trusting in Him, His timing, and His plans. His ways and plans are higher than ours.
