We were lucky to catch up with Kimberly Royster recently and have shared our conversation below.

Kimberly , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?

If I could change the educational system, I would incorporate financial literacy. Financial literacy saved and changed my life. The resources, the understanding and the knowledge to maneuver in life starts at a young age. Being given life lessons of savings, taxes, home ownership, investing and many other financial tips could have been a driving force to put my life in a different direction. I was blessed to be good in math but even with this knowledge I struggled to navigate life and life decisions. Only through shared knowledge, did I learn the value and power of saving and investing. We can prepare our students with the basic key knowledge points of life beyond school. Helping students understand a bank account, savings and investing are only a small step to preparing students to financial light.

Kimberly, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Kimberly Castle Royster is the owner and CFO of Kimberly Services LLC.

Kimberly Services offers accounting, bookkeeping, tax and consulting services to small and mid-sized businesses in the range of $0 to $10 million in revenue.

Kimberly has been in accounting for over 15 years. She watched how large businesses were growing because of the support and information they were given to access resources to build their companies. Once she realized that small businesses did not have access to these same resources, she knew that she could help. She started my Kimberly Services because she has a passion to see others experience financial freedom and the knowledge to help them create a plan to get there.

We want Kimberly Services, LLC to be known as the go-to accounting firm for small to midsized business who are ready to build a foundation for smart financial growth through proper accounting, bookkeeping and tax planning.

Ms. Royster is also the Chairwoman of the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber has over 300 members and supports these members by helping them to increase revenue, add jobs and have a more positive impact on the City of Baltimore.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I think there a 3 things that helped me build my reputation. First, my commitment to my clients, second my knowledge of resources for small business owners and third our consistent high quality service.

My clients are like my family. I am committed to ensuring they understand their finances and that they have a plan for their growth and their retirement.

My knowledge comes from over 15 years in accounting, supporting large companies across the country. The knowledge I gained is what I share every day in order to help business owners access capital and reduce tax liabilities.

I love my team. They are as committed as I am to the success of our clients. We have processes and procedures to ensure that nothings falls through the cracks. Every client request is handled with care and we are proactive with clients because we understand they are busy running their companies.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

Most of our new clients come from word of mouth and direct referral from our current clients and many community partners. Our current clients appreciate the care we give them and our community partners are confident in our ability to assist any one they refer.

Our most effective strategy is going above and beyond to assist our clients. We are consistently doing what’s best for our clients and pushing them to new heights. Assuring they have the resources, funding and time they need to build and grow their business always makes them happy and makes them even more willing to tell their friends and colleagues to contact us when they need help.
