We were lucky to catch up with Kimberly Rice recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kimberly, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The Mission of The Path Illuminated is to create a safe container for clients to dive deeper within themselves and to develop rituals and a spiritual practice that most resonates with them to assist them in balancing their whole selves body, heart, mind and soul.
My own personal journey has helped me to understand that in life having a spiritual practice is deeply foundational for creating the life that you want to see in your reality. Discovering spiritual tools and grounding practices has helped me expand personally, improve my relationships with others and with myself. These tools have helped me to better navigate the complex and constantly changing world around us.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My career background over the last 15 years, has been as an Executive Assistant in the Tech industry. My EA role is really what led me to deepen my own personal spiritual practice as well as inspiring me to pursue Life Coaching and Energy reading as additional tools. Before my formal training, coaching was already a big part of the tool set that I’d been utilizing to partner with executive teams in high-stress work environments. For me, it’s always been about connecting with and supporting people above everything else.
Once I became a Certified Life Coach, I had even more tools available to me to better understand and help support the executives and teams I was working with. My career has provided me with a deep understanding of the pressures facing those working in high-stress environments and their struggle for balance and well-being. My own personal journey led me to a deeper understanding of myself and my need for a spiritual practice, Astrology, Tarot, Meditation and Life Coaching are all tools that I’ve used to improve my own well-being as well as finding a sense of purpose and magic in my life and I hope to bring that experience to my clients.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
It has been very important for me to create from a space of inspiration. For me it’s not about optimizing for an algorithm, although of course you can learn a lot about what, when and how to post content for the most views/follows…but that never resonated with me personally. I think you need to follow your heart and what inspires you, what individuals are looking for the most is authenticity so it may seem cliche but really “just be yourself,” and trust that in sharing what resonates most with you that the content you share will bring in like-minded clients.
Trying to be everything to everyone will not help you, you need to figure out what sets you apart and that usually has to do with what sparked your passion in the first place. If you are able to maintain your own personal practices and stay grounded in your purpose for even getting started, you can always redirect yourself and your energy if you feel like you have gotten off track. Aim for long term growth and authentic connections vs going viral on the latest trend that everyone else is hopping on.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source for new clients are my current clients. If I am doing my job well, and supporting my clients with their personal and spiritual goals they will share that with those they are in close contact with. When you build genuine connections with people they will always remember that. It takes time to build trust and authentic connection with clients but it is imperative. Ensure that you are clear on your goals, mission and ethical values. If you can operate your business from a place of authenticity and high ethical standards, you will be able to create beautifully safe spaces for your clients to develop and grow and they will in-turn help you to grow your clientele,
