We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kimberly Massale a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kimberly , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I believe true success is not about your income or how large your company has grown, but instead, are you in integrity and have you created a lifestyle that is nourishing enough to allow you to be in your genius in your work.
Many people create and grow a business based on what will make them money, where the market is and strategy. I choose to create and grow my businesses from a place of alignment and integrity. I focus my energy in my own client work on clients and work that energizes. And when I am in alignment, I am magnetic, I do great work and more business flows easily to me. And in building a business (where I have 13 independent contractors working for me) I maintain integrity. I never try to keep contractors trapped or limited, I focus my energy on making sure they are growing, satisfied and doing great work for my business.
Beyond integrity and alignment in my work and business, I prioritize maintaining a lifestyle that is spacious and nourishing so that I am happy with my life outside of work. I have time and energy to be present with my children and spouse as well as my body, psyche and soul. If I am not aligned in my lifestyle, I will not be in my genius at work.
So I believe success is different and unique to each person. And it looks like alignment to their individual values and energetic needs. It boils down to alignment and integrity.

Kimberly , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Kimberly Massale is an entrepreneur and feminine freedom coach who supports female business owners who are ready to break out of deficit mindsets and hustle culture and instead, drop into trusting and embodying feminine flow in their businesses to create abundance and space for what really matters – presence, creativity, play, connection, spirituality, health and wellness. As a licensed psychotherapist of 15 years, she has supported women internationally to develop businesses and careers beyond the 9-5 box, that shake up old toxic patriarchal and societal paradigms to embody feminine empowerment and divinity. Additionally, Kim founded and manages a thriving psychotherapy practice in the Denver and Boulder metro areas providing accessible support for the women healing from trauma and childhood wounds. In her free time, you can find Kim hanging out with her partner and 3 and 5 year old kiddos, biking, hiking, painting, dancing or exploring.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I was recently chosen to be featured in a documentary on Netflix called “Get Smart with Money.” In the filming of documentary, my partner and I were coached to improve our financial lives by looking at how best to invest our money.
Since being in the documentary, I have an influx of clients for my coaching business. Choosing to be part of this film was a huge opportunity for the growth of my business.
We had to make a big choice when we were offered to be part of the film – “do we share our financial journey, our income and financial struggles vulnerably to the world?”
I don’t think I would have even considered it a year prior. It took a lot of personal development work for me to get to a place where I felt comfortable being visible to that level – globally – in my vulnerability. And it paid off big time.
One of the key components to business success in my opinion, is personal development, especially when it comes to knowing yourself, your values and building your confidence. Owning a business is hard work and is constantly challenging your sense of worth. I highly recommend you do the work to build your confidence as part of your business coaching / growth process.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
One thing that often surprises my business coaching clients is that I only relied on psychology today, a website and word of mouth to build (in 4 years) to a 300K+ per year income.
I believe, and experience, that marketing is much more about your message and knowing your audience than it is about social media or having a huge audience. What you need is clarity about your passion, an ideal client that is interested in investing in that passion and a message that makes it clear that you will support them in growth around that passion.
Your reputation is about you being in love with what you do and working in integrity. If those two components of your business are solid, you won’t have to work hard to market at all.
