We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kimberly (Kim) Medica . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kimberly (Kim) below.
Kimberly (Kim) , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I manage my own social media on Instagram but it can be very challenging to keep up with all of the changes. For my business still photos work best for sales but reels generate more views, so I am slowly trying to bring more into the picture. I do ask my kids for opinions on occasions :)

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
After many years of searching thru flea markets, Brocantes, estate sales and shops to find unique treasures for our home as well as family/friends ….we decided (after a terrible bout with Covid in 2020) to do something big and open our “brick and mortar” it happens to be just a few blocks from our home, on Alki Beach. Seattle Wa. I traveled to French Riviera several years back and fell in love…..fast forward many more years and I went back with my family and loved it even more.
The energy, the people, the beauty sold me! It once again inspired me. Our style is “French Coastal Farmhouse” it has been a go to for over 25 years. We now travel all throughout the US and Europe to find unique items for the shop. A few favorites in the shop are European breadboards (great for charcuterie), French linens, ironstone, locally made soaps and detergents and so much more! I am married with 2 wonderful children and one Frenchie fur baby.
Our shop also offers design services, profound inspiration, and. a feel of simpler times. We are only open Fri thru Sunday (true to the word “Brocante”) but offer on line sales as well.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I have a “silent partner” who has always supported my dreams…..and that’s my mom! The other incredible person behind the scenes who helps me move giant pieces of furniture, set up shows, drive the Penske clear across the state, and take care of any details that need additional attention…..my husband Dino. I couldn’t have done any of this without them!

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
My side hustle has been about helping others ( I guess lol) I taught fitness classes for over 30 years, have been in the travel industry (flying) since 1990 and the joy of helping with design and reinventing something old for a friend or family member is my true calling. That’s what I have always done. It’s a definite happy place. People say when you love something it doesn’t feel like work, and with the shop…it’s the truth. Not that running it is easy but in the end it’s worth it. And I thank my entire family for all of their support!
