We were lucky to catch up with Kimberly Howard recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kimberly, appreciate you joining us today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your business and how did you resolve those issues?
Thank you for having me. Money, loyalty, and delegation have been some of the unexpected problems that I have faced. I had to learn how to manage my business finances by delegating this to loyal/trusted financial experts. My business was then able to reach new levels.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a design strategist, board certified Christian Counselor, author and inspirational speaker.
I found my voice by learning how to turn a mess into a message. And be transparent with others that have faced similar obstacles.
My focus is to equip others to evolve into successful entrepreneurs and obtain personal/professional growth.
I have more than 16 years of extensive expertise in marketing, brand development, and graphic art.
I am originally from Louisiana and now reside in Dallas, Tx. Currently, I work as the director of communication with the City of Dallas.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Eight years ago, I was a victim of a drive by shooting. This occurred during the highest point of my entrepreneurship. I had to learn to walk again and most importantly I had to continue to push for my family and clients.
Regardless of how I felt, my business depended on me. I had to use all of strength to still show up for my clients.
You never know how much strength that you have until it is put to the test.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
My business pivoted during the pandemic. During this time, I had to go back to the basics, I had to put in more effort to reach a new audience and create innovative strategy to promote my business.
The outcome was very successful. I was able to create a strategy that I still use to engage my clients and help the move from being an exhausted entrepreneur.
