Kimberly , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

The thought process behind starting my own small business began while walking alongside my mom after she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Although my secondhand observations are far different from someone personally going through this battle, I still am able to experience a glimpse of the hardship and pain. I witnessed what it is like for a woman to lose her hair. I became more aware of things I previously took for granted: putting a bobby pin in, curling my hair, or even brushing a hair knot out. Thus, the idea for this clip collection started. These clips stand as reminders to pray for our family and friends going through battles against cancer and to be thankful we have hair to put up or pull back with a clip. I wanted to have something that could serve as a reminder each time you see or use it to be grateful for your hair and health. I wanted my clips to be a reminder to pray for those who are facing life and death situations.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.

I try to include my clients by featuring them on the website or Instagram page in pictures (whether I take them or they are sent to us). I think letting them see themselves featured wearing the products as promo makes them feel like they are on the KiCarCo team. We want our clients to feel as though they are one with us, we are all working toward the same goal of clipping it for a cure!

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?

I sell my clips on my website I have through Shopify. I highly recommend this platform as it is not difficult to navigate if you do research on. It offers many features to help grow a business. I myself need to take more time to learn about all the features in order to take advantage of the opportunities it provides.
