Kim, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
Why I Love to Teach Others How to Be Successful in Aesthetics
Teaching others how to thrive in the aesthetics industry has become one of the most rewarding parts of my journey—and it’s deeply personal. As a breast cancer survivor, my perspective on beauty, confidence, and purpose shifted in ways I never expected. I know firsthand how powerful it can be to feel good in your own skin again.
When I first began my career in medical aesthetics, I was driven by passion and a desire to help others. But over time, I realized that my role could extend beyond treating clients—I could also be a mentor, a guide, and a support system for other providers. Especially during the uncertainty of COVID, I witnessed how vulnerable small businesses and new injectors were. Many reached out, overwhelmed and unsure of how to grow or even stay afloat. That’s when my passion for teaching truly ignited.
I believe there’s enough room at the table for all of us. When I train others, I don’t just teach technique—I teach strategy, confidence, and how to build a business rooted in integrity and care. Watching other providers step into their calling, build thriving practices, and change lives through their work fills me with so much joy.
At the end of the day, I teach because someone once taught and believed in me. And now, it’s my turn to give that gift back—to help others not just succeed, but to truly flourish.

Kim, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
In 2005, my life changed in the most beautiful—and chaotic—way. I had just given birth to identical twin boys, and my daughter was only two years old. That meant three babies in diapers, all under the age of two. As a nurse, I had always been passionate about patient care, but the long 12-hour hospital shifts no longer felt sustainable for my growing family. I knew I needed a new path—one that allowed me to continue serving others while being present for my children.
That’s when I found a part-time opportunity as an injection nurse. I thought, I can do that!—and from the very first patient, I was hooked. I fell in love with aesthetics and the way it empowered people. Helping men and women look and feel their best lit something up inside me. It wasn’t just about injectables or skincare—it was about confidence, self-care, and helping people reconnect with how they saw themselves.
Fast forward to today, and I’m the founder and medical provider at The Pearl MedSpa in Coppell, Texas. We offer luxury medical aesthetic services—from cosmetic injectables to laser treatments and skincare—all delivered with a highly personalized, expert approach. Our mission is to create a space where self-care is celebrated and confidence is restored. Whether a client is looking to address signs of aging, prepare for a big event, or simply invest in themselves, we offer solutions tailored to their unique goals.
What sets us apart is not just the skill behind the needle—it’s the heart behind our care. My team and I are passionate about education, transparency, and helping clients feel empowered in their own skin. I also train nurses across the country in advanced injectable techniques and practice-building strategies. Teaching others how to succeed in this industry has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my career.
I’m most proud of building a business that stands for excellence, compassion, and resilience. As a breast cancer survivor, I know how deeply personal the journey of healing and self-image can be. My work isn’t just clinical—it’s emotional and transformative. I don’t take a single day, or a single patient, for granted.
To anyone considering The Pearl MedSpa or following our journey: I want you to know that you’re not just booking a treatment—you’re stepping into a space that honors your goals, your story, and your worth.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
As a business owner and provider in the aesthetics space, I’ve always believed that the way you treat people matters just as much as the service you provide. Whether it’s a patient, a team member, or a vendor, investing in relationships with kindness, honesty, and consistency builds a foundation that lasts. That belief became incredibly real during two of the most challenging times in my life: the height of COVID and my battle with breast cancer.
When I was diagnosed, everything stopped—but what didn’t stop was the overwhelming support I received from the relationships I had nurtured over the years. My team, my patients, even other providers I had mentored—they showed up in ways I’ll never forget. They covered shifts, offered encouragement, and kept our business running so I could focus on healing.
At The Pearl MedSpa, we’ve always operated with a spirit of collaboration, and I’ve worked hard to create a culture where everyone feels valued and empowered. That investment paid off tenfold. My team didn’t just survive—they led. They cared for our patients, upheld our standards, and made decisions aligned with our mission and values. That level of trust and unity doesn’t happen by accident—it’s the result of daily communication, shared purpose, and creating an environment where everyone feels like they’re part of something bigger.
This experience reminded me that real success isn’t measured in numbers—it’s found in the community you create, and the relationships that sustain you when life takes an unexpected turn. In both business and life, those relationships are the safety net that carries you through.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
One book that has significantly impacted the way I manage my time, my team, and even the direction of my business is The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst. It helped me realize that every time I say “yes” to something, I’m also, by default, saying “no” to something else—whether that’s time with my family, energy for my team, or space for creative thinking.
As a business owner, nurse practitioner, trainer, and mom, I’ve worn a lot of hats. There was a season when I said yes to everything out of guilt or the fear of missing an opportunity. But that only led to burnout and a feeling that I was constantly stretched too thin. This book taught me to pause and ask: Is this the best yes for me, my team, my family, and the long-term health of my business?
Now, I’m much more intentional with my time and commitments. I’ve learned that protecting your yes is one of the most powerful forms of leadership—and one of the best ways to honor both your values and the people who depend on you.
