Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kim Rickards . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kim , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
We all have a proclivity to feel accepted, supported and loved. My hope is to leave a legacy of dedication and commitment to intentionally connecting the dots for entrepreneurs and professionals of color to thrive and successfully navigate the roads to manifesting their dreams and goals.
Kim , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Kim Rickards, CEO & Co-Founder of ManiFeast, a community that empowers organizations & professionals of color with the resources to manifest opportunities and goals. Throughout my career trajectory, I’ve operated as Program Manager and Executive Assistant supporting C-Suite executives at notable companies including Viacom, Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Express, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. While climbing the corporate ladder, I became known as “The Professional Superglue” because of my innate ability to connect the dots which fueled my commitment to provide entrepreneurs and professionals of color with purposeful introductions and best practices to fully manifest dreams and opportunities. Meeting so many awesome people lead to the creation Let’s ManiFeast Podcast where I interview inspiring creatives, professionals & entrepreneurs that are living their dreams. I also co-host The Do Work Podcast with my former LinkedIn colleague and friend, Rob Humphrey, that highlights dope people that are changing the game by doing the work they love!
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
As an avid reader, books have always significantly impacted my way of thinking but the following books have contributed to my entrepreneurial journey and philosophy; The Holy Bible, The Power of Now by Echkart Tolle, Until Today by Iyanla Vanzant and The Starfish and The Spider by Ori Brafman and Rod Beckstrom.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I wouldn’t necessarily consider it a “strategy” per se, however, being authentic and flexible in this constantly changing world has been most effective for growing clientele.
