We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kim Reynolds. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kim below.
Kim, appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
I started thinking as most would, putting words together to create a feeling; an expression of what an organized home meant to me. Then it got deeper. I knew the creative genius stemmed from a calm mind, so I calmed my mind and found myself in a different space; a different state of mind. I’m not sure how exactly the words came to me, but the meaning is what was important. Simply Spacial is the space in between the thoughts, the gaps that you can minimize or grow. In these gaps is an offered choice of the direction of following thoughts. Conscious thought becomes intentional thought which becomes a meaningful reality. When every space in the home is intentional and meaningful, the mind has more gaps to choose and thus the individual is more conscious creating more meaning and intention throughout the tapestry of the reality that surrounds them. In essence, Simply Spacial was gifted to me in a gap, from a space filled with harmony, and is here to deliver a beautiful sense of harmony into the homes of those who are ready.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Building a home organization business has been a soul passion of mine for 12 years. From a psychological stand point, the home sets the foundation for the remainder of our lives. How we start and end our day is vital to our health and personal growth. When a home is organized, the home further supports the family that lives in it. Providing structure and allowing peace to live in every corner of every drawer.
Knowing the psychological effects the home has on a family has brought me to learn how many homes are missing this peace. Clutter and disorganization furthers stress and gets in the way of relationships, time and energy.
To guide others on a path to an orderly and harmonious home is a win for all members of society. The children are taught boundaries by returning items to their homes, and their parents have more time and energy to offer more to the community.
Through online guidance, I pass the knowledge and skillset to those ready to learn how to create and maintain the organized haven they dream of. Instead of hiring someone to do it for them, they learn how to think with an organized mind. They are empowered to take care of their home, teach their children, and use this newly found organized mind to make their community better.
Organization is foundational.
With guidance and support, every human can learn to live in peace, harmony and organization.
I am happy to guide others on this transformational journey!
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
When I was 9, I remember purposelessly becoming stressed! I grew up outside NYC, where everyone was rushing and stressed out; I saw the adults around me make very big deals about things and I thought I was supposed to be like them, so I started to as well. And that was it. I programmed my mind to become stressed out about all the things. I then used organization to calm down. I would organize my room, then the whole home! It was a stress reliever in the moment and a stress reliever for my whole family in future moments. This story impacted me so greatly, I now see home organizing as a way to combat stress.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Creating harmony out of chaos hasn’t always been easy for me, it takes its toll. In my 20s, I used to become ill after a client. I knew it was the chaos of the disorganization of the space, but I didn’t know how else to help others create harmony at home. I created an in-home team and that helped, but I was still feeling the chaos. I kept on for many years, knowing what I was doing was making a difference, but I have seen my health suffer.
I have since learned that helping others from the online space is much more potent! I can offer more skill transfer in a calm environment to empower home owners to remove the chaos and install harmony in their homes.
Disorganization affects me and my physical body so greatly, I know I am not alone!
