We recently connected with Kim Peppers and have shared our conversation below.
Kim, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I always thought I’d work for a fitness company, I ended up with an opportunity when the club I worked for closed, to open my own business in less than 6 weeks. That was almost 14 years ago now.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Having been an athlete, my whole life, I knew that fitness was incredibly valuable to me growing up, and I knew that I wanted to go into an industry where I could help people. I went to college for two programs in Fitness, and jumped right into a career in fitness at the age of 23. I have always loved a variety of ways of staying healthy, and I really enjoy promoting a healthy lifestyle through nutrition and helping people find cleaner products for their home.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I was working for a commercial gym in 2010 when they closed overnight. At that point I was considering opening my own business. Training people from home. This forced me to take that jump right away and I took my previous clients from the commercial gym to my studio in Home. And that was 14 years ago, it was the best decision I could’ve made

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word-of-mouth is everything, your reputation will sell you more than any advertising. Treat people well, and you’ll have people lined up out the door.
