We recently connected with Kim Dillinger and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kim, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
. Being a humanitarian is one of my biggest endeavors in life. There are so many people in need and I have bin one of them. So any chance I get I give a helping hand. Even when I’m struggling myself I find joy in putting a smile on someone else’s face. People will always say that I work my butt off to connect them and put them in rooms with people they wouldn’t be able to connect with by themselves and that I’m amazing to be around.
Kim, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My sons father and his friends had a group called S.B.E ( stack bread entertainment) I would help pick out their wardrobe for upcoming shows and events. His aunt Cathy told me that I should pursue a dream in fashion styling because I was really good at it.. Things got rocky with me and my sons father I packed up my stuff moved back to New York to atl and landed a spot on a reality show called Blood,Sweat,Heels in Bravo. From there my fashion career took off. I worked on numerous day time talks shows such as Wendy Williams, Good morning America and Steve Harvey show just to name a few doing wardrobe makeovers and that led me to opportunities at vogue Japan, w Korea, Grazia China and a slew of other high fashion magazines.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met my Buisness partner Shay Newtwon on clubhouse. She was hosting a room called flop or bop. Where artist showcased their music and the consumers decided if it was a flip or bop. She flew to atlanta for her birthday we hung out with the other moderators of the club flop or bop and from there we went into business with On Third Avenue Management.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There will always be a lot of no’s i. The industry but I don’t take no for an answer . I believe you just figure out ways to make a person say yes. Doing more research and always showing up. No one has ever given me an opportunity. I thugged my way through the industry and work my butt off
