Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kim Afreeka. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kim , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you get your first job in the field that you practice in today?
I was working as a HIV/AIDS case manager full time, when I started my Life Coaching practice on the side, I just finished graduating from Graduate School with a MSW.. I met a young black woman attorney who I told that I was a Life Coaching practice and I gave her some free services, she then referred me to other prominent people in the community my first client was her best friend, she hired me and wrote me a healthy check for my services. I became booked up after that and retired from direct services as a case manager 6 month later.

Kim , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was inspired to become a life coach after interning for Adeyemi Bandele and Iyanla Vanzant in the mid 90’s
After graduating with my Master’s degree I open up my private practice as a LLC and Founded Kismet Life Coach in Atlanta.
My coaching practice, is now a premium space for high-achieving individuals who are navigating transitions, healing burnout, or calling in their next-level vision—without abandoning their peace, pleasure, or power. As a Clinical Social Work graduate with 20+ years of experience supporting individuals through life transitions, mental health challenges, and social reintegration, I bring deep compassion, program insight, and strong communication skills to the [Job Title] role.
My background as a spiritual life coach, case manager, and consultant has given me an intuitive and strategic approach to care. I have confidently offered powerful support to my clients—especially those navigating emotional overwhelm, trauma, or change—while honoring their mission and workflow needs.
After months of deep reflection, devotion, and divine downloads, I’ve expanded and up-leveled my private coaching offers—and I’m thrilled to finally share it with everyone this Fall. New website, new subscriptions and new content and services.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My sincere intentions to provide a safe space for all my clients that is free of judgment and filled with compassion. I am like your best girlfriend and your voice of reason. I am known to give more than is expected in every client encounter. I lead with unconditional love and respect and my clients treasure this about me.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Word of Mouth. I get great referrals from people I once worked with. Also being visible on Social Media. Maintaining a positive presence can also help, you never know who’s watching.
