We were lucky to catch up with Kim Abels recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kim, thanks for joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
Being an Artist has always come natural to me. I was raised in a household where my creativity was encouraged, yet for some reason I hid a lot of my natural talents and capabilities. Everyone is in artist, in my perspective and now more than ever do we have to ability to full express our creativity and be able to monetize from our unique passions. I would have encouraged my younger self to start earlier and not compare myself to other artists… to just have fun and be myself.
It wasn’t until I moved to Los Angeles, where I was able to fully embody my artist self. She came out of the creative closet and years later became the Artist known as Camelion. When I fully embraced this persona, I was able to flow effortlessly into flow with my artistry. This also helped me later down the road as I transitioned from Yoga teacher to Intuitive Mentor. My artistry gave me the fire to step up as a Spiritual Guide and assist others in there awakening journey, the journey home.
And as I truly believe, everything is in divine timing. I don’t fake anything, so my life always right on time and supported by the divine orchestration and protection of ancestral and spirit realms. My journey has never been easy and… it’s been absolutely incredible. I know how lucky and blessed I am.
Kim, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My biggest passion is to encourage others to express themselves. Whether it’s crying in svasana, singing, dancing whatever the medium- there’s nothing more satisfying that to see others truly living in their authenticity. This has always been something that is naturally exuberante for me and have inspired in others.
Now I get paid for it, not just what I love but who i am.
I’ve always been a dancer, performer entertainer and again, it wasn’t until I moved to Hollyhood(yes hood-it’s not what people perceive as Hollywood) that I was able to full find my voice and outlet for my artistry. I studied dance and yoga in LA, danced for a few artist friends and became a full-time yoga teacher. After 10 years of mastering my craft, I migrated south to San Diego and found my community. I started fire performing professionally working in really amazing venues all over Southern California. I taught again full time and DJ’d whenever I got the chance. I realized that I had a lot more to offer to my community and became an Intuitive Guide to help others navigate their spiritual path.
All my life, I have been so passionate about supporting my sisters. I’ve always been mama bear, super protective energy with those I love so being a Mentor comes naturally, as I am able to encourage my clients on their journey… and let’s be real. There are so many coaches now but guess what? we need it.
The world need radically positive, radically real and radically inspiring humans if we’re going to shift the evolution of our existence as humans. We need more people to unapologetically show up as themselves and that’s what I encourage my clients to do. I currently work with soley the female demographic and empower my fellow sisters to rise up together, to be live and breath their own artistry.
If you’re going to work with me, expect to be taken to the depths. TRUTH and TRANSPARENCY is like breath for me. It also happens to be my driving force within my gene keys but it’s something that has always been a pillar of mine. My entire life, people have always said- you are so honest… it’s like yea, how else are you going to show up in this world. If you put on a mask, you’re going to attract people and environments that are drawn to that energy, so why fake it? You’ll find your people and true soul purpose when you can fully step into the world as yourself.
I honestly believe that the future of humanity is shifting towards an evolution where a form of our communication is telepathy, so why hault the process? The truth will always set you free.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
SUPPORT and PAY your friends and the people you know. Stop buying anything and everything off of amazon. Just because it’s cheaper and quicker does not mean it’s better. Support your local artists so we can keep a clean ecosystem. We vote with our dollar, so everytime you support someone you know (with good morals and ethics of course) within your community, you are cleaning the ecosystem. Less waste, less carbon emissions. Everyone wins.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My purpose in life is to create a new world.
Less suffering.
Full expression.
Clean Food, fresh water.
We need to shift our consciousness into doing anything in life with purpose, on purpose. If we create life as a ritual with full intention the world will change. We need more people to step up and slow down. Nothing that is truly, truly meant for you is in a rush. Live with an full heart and be OPEN to RECEIVE the messages around you. I call them Love Letters from the Universe. This is divine intervention, and if we listen close enough it will show you the way…
