We recently connected with Kiki Rozema and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kiki, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Girls aged 8+ and all women.
What: Improve Mental Health strategies and create Empowerment through the RELATIONSHIP with self
How: Our team of 7 professional women will take attendees through hands-on activities for the day. The event is like no other event in that we will separate the groups (girls 8-11, 12-15 and then women) for developmental stages and focus on het relationship with self, etc. so all our guests have the strategies and tools they will need for the rest of their lives. Support will also be offered afterwards. Unlike typical events/conferences, attendees are taking an active role in their empowerment, so the likelihood of external influences like social media, societal expectations, other women, etc. will be minimized. Having the foundation of self-created worth is unbreakable, lessening mental health situations.
The event includes: 3 sessions in the morning, buffet lunch, 3 afternoon sessions, buffet dinner and then a dance.
Our focus is on MENTAL HEALTH and EMPOWERMENT strategies through activities and tools for our attendees (creating a sound relationship with self allows individuals to rely on their own strength and beliefs rather than seeking them externally (self validation and body acceptance, for girls and women is a huge issue.)
* Mental health issues are on the rise and if we can teach girls and women the tools to navigate societies’ expectations and pressures, females can become more empowered!
* Empowerment for females has been a word often thrown around, but very little has been done in terms of teaching people HOW to be empowered. Our event is different, because our day is filled with the activities necessary to educate and demonstrate precisely what that looks and feels like.
Guests won’t be sitting in chairs listening to someone all day; they will be actively participating in their own growth.
* Girls and women will be separated into groups in breakout rooms for developmental purposes; women, girls aged 8-11 and girls aged 12-15
*Presenters are all professionals who are practiced and knowledgeable in: Education, Registered Psychology, Reiki, Yoga, Trauma and more
* We are a diverse group of women coming from different cultural backgrounds (Including Indigenous)

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Kiki Rozema! I am beyond excited to present this incredible event for girls and women in 2024! I have thoughtfully chosen the most incredible team of women to present and guide you through the activities during our day together. I have a Master of Education in Multidisciplinary Leadership and I taught junior high for 15 fabulous years. I have dabbled in Life Coaching and Professional Photography, but my true passion and purpose is in helping others recognize and believe in their worth in this world. I want girls and women to be understood and heard, and creating empowerment from within means we (as women) can spread that like wildfire! No Girl Left Behind evolved when my 3-day Empowerment Camp for Girls became too big to host just once a year, so I’ve created this event to reach more girls and women across 3 cities in Canada. My hope is to grow our event across Canada and into the US, while empowerment for girls and women becomes a massive initiative.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
We all know about empowerment; we talk about it and use the word haphazardly, because the majority of girls and women have no clue how to BE empowered .I am a ‘make it happen’ kind of woman, so I believe it’s time to do MORE than just talk about it…now is the time to DO something about it and teach our sisters how to empower themselves!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn lifelong conditioning. What my mother told me I was, what society told me I had to look like and who I was supposed to be. I had to learn how to quiet the NOISE from social media, and stop competing and comparing to other women :)
