We were lucky to catch up with Kiki Rouse recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kiki, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Being raised in the south, we’ve never had the best relationship with healthy food. In my early 20’s I begin to notice that younger people were developing food related diseases such as, hypertension, high cholesterol etc. the effects of our fast food system and lack of healthier food options. Our mission became clear, we wanted to provide simple food, with healthier ingredients, providing better fast casual food options for busy Americans.

My name is Nkechi, I’m the founder of SeasonHarvest Co., an eco friendly, farm to table fast casual restaurant chain. One thing of many that sets us apart from the competition is our diverse menu. Not only do we offer customizable bowls, we also have incorporated cold Pressed juices & smoothies to our menu, using local ingredients.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson that I had to unlearn was to stop limiting myself and utilize the resources that were surrounding me.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
The funding of business came strictly from human capital, aka I used my 9-5 to fund my dream.
