We recently connected with Kiesha Dunn and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kiesha, thanks for joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
The idea for my creative services business was born out of both pain and purpose. I was in a season of life where I had poured so much into others—my kids, my relationship, my work—but had very little left for myself. I knew what burnout felt like. I knew what it felt like to smile on the outside but feel invisible, tired, and unsure of my worth on the inside. But I also knew I wasn’t alone in that.
That’s when I started journaling my way back to myself. I began writing down thoughts, affirmations, mindset shifts—small things that helped me rebuild my confidence day by day. I wasn’t trying to create a business at first. I was trying to heal.
Then something shifted. I realized the words I was writing weren’t just for me—they were for every woman who ever felt like she lost herself while trying to be everything to everyone. That’s how 30 Days to Unstoppable Confidence was born.
It wasn’t a flashy idea—it was real, raw, and needed. I poured everything I had into that ebook with a vision to make it feel like a best friend guiding you back to your power. When I saw how much it resonated with other women, I knew I had something more than just a book—I had a message.
That’s when I made the decision to turn my passion into a creative services business. I wanted to offer ebooks, digital products, and supportive tools that help women shift their mindset, heal emotionally, and build the confidence to chase what’s theirs—whether that’s peace, purpose, or power.
The logic came from listening to what women constantly say: “I don’t have time for myself,” “I wish someone understood,” “I just need help getting started.” I knew I could create products that were simple, actionable, and emotionally supportive. I didn’t need to be perfect. I just needed to be real—and women responded to that.
So yes, this business started with one ebook. But it was more than that. It was the beginning of a movement to remind women that confidence is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. And I knew I could succeed because I wasn’t trying to build something for profit alone—I was building something out of purpose.

Kiesha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a passionate writer, mental wellness advocate, and the creator of heartfelt self-care resources for women who are ready to rediscover their power. My journey into this space wasn’t perfectly planned—it was personal. I stepped into this work after navigating seasons of burnout, heartbreak, motherhood, and self-doubt. I’ve worn many hats—mom, spouse, former case manager, family peer support specialist—and in every one of those roles, I saw a pattern: women giving so much to others that they had nothing left for themselves.
That realization led me to create my first ebook, 30 Days to Unstoppable Confidence. It was born from my healing, written during quiet reflection and emotional growth moments. I wanted it to feel like a sister-friend holding your hand and walking you through daily mindset shifts, emotional clarity, and confidence-building tools. That single book sparked my entire creative services business, where I now provide digital products, workbooks, and practical guides centered around self-care, healing, and empowerment.
What I offer includes:
Self-care & mindset ebooks designed to help women rebuild confidence, shift their inner dialogue, and start putting themselves first again.
Printable planners & tools like manifestation kits, budget trackers, and goal-setting sheets that blend emotional wellness with real-life organization.
Mini digital courses focused on topics like mastering self-care, manifesting a better life, and overcoming emotional blocks.
Guided workbooks that help women go deeper into healing after heartbreak, rediscovering self-worth, and setting healthier boundaries.
The problems I solve?
I help women who feel stuck, lost, or invisible find their voice again. I create resources for the woman who’s been putting everyone else first but is now ready to choose herself. My work speaks directly to women who want to grow but are overwhelmed with where to start. I give them the tools, guidance, and emotional support to move forward—one day at a time.
What sets me apart is my tone and intention.
My brand is rooted in warmth, realness, and relatability. I don’t talk to my audience—I talk with them, like a friend who’s been there too. I infuse everything I create with encouragement, emotional intelligence, and authenticity. My resources aren’t just pretty—they’re purposeful. I want women to feel seen when they read my books, not judged or pressured to be perfect.
What I’m most proud of is seeing women light up after reading my work. When a mom sends me a message saying, “This chapter felt like you were talking straight to me,” or when someone says they started showing up for themselves again because of one of my planners—that’s what fills my soul. I’m proud that I’ve taken my own hard lessons and turned them into something that helps others heal.
What I want people to know about my brand:
This is a space for growth, softness, and strength. It’s not about having it all figured out—it’s about honoring where you are, giving yourself grace, and knowing that confidence is something you build, not something you’re born with. Through my digital products, ebooks, and emotional support tools, I help women rewrite their stories. This is a movement of everyday women showing up for themselves—and I’m honored to lead that journey.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the most defining moments in my journey came during a time when everything around me felt like it was falling apart. I was juggling motherhood, trying to hold my family together, and emotionally exhausted from pouring into everyone but myself. I had ideas, dreams, and this quiet voice in me saying, “You’re meant for more,” but I was overwhelmed by life and unsure where to even begin.
At the time, I was the owner of KK Body Butter. I started the business with good intentions—I loved creating natural products and helping women feel good in their skin. But over time, something shifted. The passion I once had started to fade. I began to feel drained, like I was forcing myself to keep going. The business started to feel more like a chore than a calling. I realized that while I cared about wellness, that particular business wasn’t aligned with my heart. What I truly cared about was emotional self-care—the kind that helps women heal, grow, and rebuild their confidence from the inside out.
There was one day—I’ll never forget it—I was sitting at the kitchen table, my kids playing in the background, and I just broke down. I felt invisible. Like I had lost my identity somewhere between responsibilities and survival mode. But instead of ignoring that moment, I leaned into it. I picked up my journal and started writing—not about business, but about healing, confidence, and what I wished someone would say to me.
That journal entry became the seed of my first ebook, 30 Days to Unstoppable Confidence. It wasn’t created in a high-powered office or during a perfect season—it was born in the middle of my mess. I wrote between naps, late at night, and in moments I stole just for myself. Every time I doubted myself or thought, “Who am I to do this?” I reminded myself that other women needed this too. Women like me—real, tired, hopeful, and deserving of something more.
Letting go of KK Body Butter was tough, but it was also necessary. I learned that resilience isn’t just about pushing through; it’s about pivoting when something no longer aligns with who you are. Writing self-help books gave me a new sense of purpose. It reminded me that I could still serve women, but in a way that truly filled me up. This work doesn’t drain me, it fuels me. It feels like home.
That’s the resilience I carry with me now: showing up even when I’m scared, choosing purpose over perfection, and turning my pain into power. I hope my story reminds others that it’s okay to change directions. Sometimes, walking away from something good is the first step toward something great.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission is to help women, especially mothers and women who’ve lost themselves in the chaos of life, reclaim their confidence, prioritize their emotional wellness, and start choosing themselves again.
Through every ebook, journal prompt, planner, and digital product I create, I want to remind women that they are allowed to take up space, to rest, to dream, and to heal. I know firsthand what it feels like to pour into everyone else and be left empty. I’ve lived through the quiet breakdowns and the loud wake-up calls. That’s why my work is so personal, it’s created from real experiences, with real emotions, for real women.
I want my creative journey to feel like a soft place to land. A space where women can come as they are, without guilt or shame, and feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. My goal isn’t just to sell books, it’s to help women build the kind of confidence and emotional clarity that changes how they move through the world.
If even one woman reads my words and feels like, “Finally, someone gets it,” then I’ve done what I came here to do.
