Hi Kierra, thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Okay, let’s be real—KiesKonsulting didn’t just happen.
I worked my butt off to get here. For four years, I was grinding as an Assistant Manager at Mountain America, doing social media on the side—after hours, on weekends, squeezing it in between everything else life was throwing at me.
On top of that, I was going through infertility treatments that were emotionally and physically draining. But something in me knew I was made for more. I didn’t have a fancy degree or a perfect plan—just a big vision, a whole lot of determination, and this creative fire that wouldn’t let up. Leaving a steady job with benefits wasn’t easy, but I took the leap, and KiesKonsulting was born.
Fast forward to now—three years deep—and I still have those moments where I’m like, Wow, I really built this. Every brand and client I’ve worked with, every piece of content created, every strategy executed—it’s all been self-taught, fueled by late nights, big dreams, and a lot of heart. I’ve grown not just as a business owner, but as a woman who chose herself—even when it was scary. KiesKonsulting is more than just a brand strategy studio. It’s the proof that passion and persistence will take you further than a perfect resume ever could.
That said, it hasn’t always been easy. Being a one-woman show means I’ve had to learn everything—from client communication to finance to creative direction—on the fly. How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Honestly? What’s built my reputation the most is how personal I make it. I show up for my clients every single day like it’s my business on the line—because that’s how much I care. I’m not the type to just hand off a task list and dip. I’m in it with you. I take time to understand your brand through your eyes—your vision, your energy, your voice—and then I help bring that to life across every platform. What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn with KiesKonsulting is that there’s a right way to do things. Spoiler: there’s not. For a while, I thought I had to follow what the “standard” was—what other agencies were doing, what the algorithm said, what people expected. But that mindset will keep you playing small. I had to shake that off real quick and realize: you don’t grow by playing it safe. You grow by taking risks, doing the damn thing, and doing it well. Even when it feels scary. Even when no one’s clapping yet. You take full accountability for the process, the mistakes, and the wins—and then you keep pushing. The hard moments? That’s where the real growth lives. That’s where you find out just how good you are.
