We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kieran Kadlec a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kieran thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I’ve always been a feminist and cared a lot about women’s rights and advocating for women in general. Growing up, I always wanted to do a job that benefitted women in a way. Through Boudoir photography, I’m able to inspire and empower women in a way that society seems to actively work against. Women are expected to be both modest and sexy, a mother and a laborer, a certain body type, a care taker, etc. Being a feminist means allowing women to be ANYTHING they want to be and supporting that. I feel that my mission with boudoir photography is to capture that vision of each woman in my studio and inspire them to be the best version of themselves possible.
Kieran, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been a Boudoir Photographer for 3 years. I’ve been a photographer for 8 years but wanted to hear my business towards something I’m truly passionate about: uplifting and empowering women. My business is centered around a luxury experience of hair, makeup, and dressing my clients and then fully posing them through a photosession. The sessions generally cover ALOT of body positivity and conversation based on who the client is, their struggles and triumphs and what makes them THEM. It’s like therapy in beautiful images. I’m extremely passionate about my work and connecting with my clients. Most of my clients become my friends. I just love loving on people and helping them love themselves. This world needs more radiating positivity and it brings me the most joy of my life to be able to create a bit of that through my work.
How did you build your audience on social media?
From the beginning of my business, I wanted to build a brand that is ME. I didn’t want the fake highlight reels or overly corporate posts. I want to truly connect with humans and build a business based on mutual goals of business and clients. Being authentically yourself and building off of that is my best advice for finding your people.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I have a VIP boudoir group on Facebook where we talk about ALL things important to our lives. It’s an intimate community and really helps build those connections and loyalty.
