We were lucky to catch up with Kiera Creve-Couer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kiera , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In order to achieve you got to believe, believe in yourself! Have faith in yourself! Push yourself! Try new things! Work to the best of your ability always because you will never know who’s watching.. They say hard work pays off so I’m putting in overtime thinking of new ideas. Never give up! If you fail try again & find a new route. Don’t compare yourself to others each & everyone of us are on a different path but however your time will come sooner or later be patient & wait your turn . Everyday is a new day to restart, regain & focus, wake up feeling LIMITLESS YOU ARE UNSTOPPABLE. Be dedicated & consistent in what you do put your all into there is no half stepping in nothing! Put yourself out there let people know what it is with you! i fell in love with what I do with a passion! As long as you know you’re trying you’re doing good! Don’t let the thought of doubt stop you! Let all negative things go! The ones who doubted you will wish they’ve supported you later on! Keep pushing try true to yourself & remain humble during your sprouting season always. Give all grace to god never be scared or afraid to do what you love ! Take the risk in order to succeed.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Kiera Creve-Couer, I am a 18 year-old multi-entrepreneur and full time high school student. I’ve started selling cake jars at school my freshman year in 2020 at 15 years old. I’ve always had a passion for being in the kitchen and cooking. I am known as “Kie” so I’ve created the name “Kie in the Kitchen” and flourished from then doing chocolate covered strawberries, cakes, birthday treats and more. April 2021 I’ve tapped into the beauty industry and became a certified lash technician. I also have a huge passion for the beauty industry to enhance my clients beauty and boost their confidence with wig services/wig coloring services, lash extensions, brow tinting +more. I am proud & blessed with the mindset God has given me. Learning how to balance all my talents took time but now I am a beast & ready to aim for more!
Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
Actually, I found one random vendor & stuck to her! My vendor is actually the best! Some nowadays will charge others $50+ for vendors not knowing they will have to pay the vendor for their services. Basically you’re just paying someone $50+ for another’s phone number or information. Although before jumping into vendors be sure to always look at their client reviews, ask for client photos, or even video call to get a visual look at products.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I am big on saving, I am not a big spender unless it’s necessary. I’ve learned to remain humble don’t spend all your money on designer, famous brands, etc. just because someone who’s at a higher status than you is wearing it. Someone people will spend their last trying to impress someone who doesn’t have half of what you have! Save! Personally I find splitting your earning in different envelopes help you build for your empire. For example envelopes can be listed as “Investments for lash strips, Investments for treats” When I split my everyday earnings within my envelopes it helps me build for funding my business.
