We were lucky to catch up with Kientazya Hawkins recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kientazya, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

My mission is to help the community heal. It just so happens that I started with the crown. My products are formulated to heal the scalp and promote healthy hair growth. It means so much to me to help others heal.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hello everyone my name is Kientazya owner of Golden Goddess Essentials LLC. I started my product line in 2021 because I wanted to help heal my community. During this time I myself was homeless but still seen that my community needed me. I studied and researched all the main companies for natural hair growth and how it was being done using chemicals instead of natural herbs. I decided instead of just growing the hair longer and thicker I wanted to heal the scalp to promote that natural hair growth for longer and thicker hair that was a long standing affect. I am a 1 man band as I call it lol. I make all my own products and package them. This is a craft that I enjoy quite a bit because your not just getting a product your getting a piece of me.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

When I first started making my products I was homeless living in a hotel. Sometimes I didn’t have the extra money to spend to make the products but I believed in what I was doing so much that I knew it would come back to me in God’s time.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Owning my own business has always been my dream I never wanted to work for someone else making them rich and helping their families generational wealth. But when times got super hard I had no choice but to stop working on my business and go work for someone else to survive. I have a son and I don’t want him to go through the things I’ve been through in life. I quit my business for a while to get stability but I never stopped dreaming about my business and getting back to what I loved doing. I’M BACK!!!
