We were lucky to catch up with Kieasha Hill recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kieasha, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I want to leave a legacy of tenacity, personal growth and self love. If you truly love yourself, you will never quit, if you never quit, you’ll eventually win and if you don’t win at least you’ll learn. I believe that you can only consider yourself to be a good human being, if you leave people better than they were when you met them. My belief is that when I’m gone, the thought of me will put a smile on people’s faces. I have always been very intentional about being the kind of person that I needed growing up. I hope to be remembered for having a good heart. No matter what cards I’ve been dealt, I still have a good heart and value being a good person.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a life coach, 11 time published Author and speaker. My focus is Self awareness and self love. I began writing poetry in high school and have written over 200 poems to date. That’s when my love for writing began. Then during the pandemic, I had the opportunity to become an author and I never looked back. I have spoken at conferences, done over 100 interviews, podcasts, panels and live discussions. What sets me apart from other’s, is that I celebrate my scars. I think people reach a certain level in life and forget the events, heartbreak, losses and failures that led them to this point. I am who I am because of what I’ve endured. And the fact that I’m still standing, smiling and successful, is priceless. I’m most proud of being a single mom, of a young man that is a college student, 7 time author, speaker, actor and entrepreneur. He is running, because I was brave enough to stand. For those out there who follow me, read my books or have every listened to me speak, I want them to know that if you have a dream or a vision for their lives, see it through to the end. No matter how many times you have to begin again. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and see it through, if for no other reason than the mere fact that you matter, you’re dreams matter!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
A story that illustrates my resilience, is that I’m a single mother and I’ve never received any child support. My son was in sports, piano lessons, acrobatics, karate, basketball camps, AAU, had braces and never missed any monumental moments during his childhood. I never missed one event, game, play, awards ceremony, prom, graduation or birthday. And it was just me. I survived it because failure was not an option. My son needed me and nothing else mattered.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal or mission that drives my creative journey is the fact that my son is watching me. He will mimic my resilience, he will admire my drive and he will persevere because he never saw me quit. Additionally, there are many women that are currently trying to figure out how to keep going and fight through adversities in order to accomplish their goals. I want them to know that anything that they can see, they can be. And always remember that your dreams should be so big, that they scare you.
