We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kid Astronaut. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kid below.
Alright, Kid thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
During the quarantine of 2020 I had the opportunity to not only ask myself a ton of questions regarding WHY I was doing music and the role it was playing in my life but also to take that energy of not being able to play shows and get out there as much as I wanted – and instead use it to gain more foundational knowledge of music theory and my guitar.
I think the biggest skill in becoming a musician is the ability to keep going – in my personal experience the journey is a long one and often frustrating, uncertain, unclear for these small – fleeting moments of pure bliss when sharing the music with others finally –

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Kid Astronaut – I’m a dimension and time traveling musician who crashed landed here in your dimension with my band and a small fleet of our crew back in 2015.
My band “The Nebula” and I have been slowly integrating ourselves into this dimension while also sharing our unique brand of futuristic R&B with the world.
Although I’m from a slightly different dimension – i know why we were brought here – to help uplift and inspire a better future. For some reason, in your dimension, you’re still figuring out the world peace thing – but we’ll keep working at it.
As a musician I hope to speak to the people who feel unique, bold, special in the world – “the aliens”, and remind people they are unlimited, amazing and that we all can vibe together on a shared frequency.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I became a father in 2017 and the path to not only taking care of my boys but also working within what Kid Astronaut was and wanted to be changed a lot/is still changing.
Kid Astronaut has always been an intuitive process so while I don’t feel forced into any situations or feel the need to do something that doesn’t feel true to me – I do at the same time want to be a major artist which comes with a certain level of patience, persistence, timing, etc.
In the meantime, between growing locally to one day internationally and beyond – my pivot has been to really gain more knowledge of things, different languages, get better at my instruments, learn new things, try nard things. I think in music or art we get caught up in “making it” and forget to acknowledge all the cool molecules that make up that larger picture.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I read the book the Alchemist in 2015 – it’s about a young boy Santiago that travels to Egypt from his hometown in Spain in search of a buried treasure. The story follows Santiago as he leaves home and ventures into the unknown meeting not only the world but also himself while on his journey.
The story of Santiago resonated with me instantly and also has been a guiding force in my journey and life with such quotes as – “The entire universe conspires in your favor” which is absolutely affirming and helpful to consider and hear
