We were lucky to catch up with Kiara Swanigan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kiara, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you wish you had started sooner?
I wish that I would have started creating much sooner because the freedom it has given me to produce things that help others feels like such an accomplishment, that I can’t believe I lived without before

Kiara, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Growing up, I was always very creative and always found myself with published works in local newspapers and things of the like. Having a father, who was in the music industry, has also allowed me to be exposed to many creative arts. I realized after suffering through many hardships, that I can combine both my creativity and life experiences to bring light to other people. Whether that was through making video content, giving testimony to the things I conquered, or publishing self-help books and articles to inspire and motivate. Health and wellness encompasses mind, body and spirit; which means I’ve been able to touch on each subject as I’ve struggled in each of them and succeeded at reaching a certain level of healing, that I can now speak about it from a healed place.

How did you build your audience on social media?
My social media presence truly grew when I stayed consistent, and I allowed my audience to see me as a real person with a common problem, yet provided real solutions to those problems. Whether that is reaching my weight-loss goals, showing how to publish books, acquiring brand partnerships, or building a business online.
The key to building an audience on social media is to truly be yourself, be concise, and be consistent. The growth that I have had on social media did not happen quickly, but it did happen steadily. Allow yourself to enjoy the process and to never despise the journey because it is there that you develop character. Publish great content because it is what you desire to do, not because you’re looking for a specific outcome. Ensure to keep the content relatable, and always stay within your niche to maintain the attention of your audience.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is that I can turn anything into content for people to not only consume, but grow and heal. Because my content is so valuable, there will always be an audience for the things I share and it is always gratifying when people reach out to me, letting me know just how far they’ve come because of the content I’ve created. I am a true believer that whenever you learn, you teach. And I never want to miss an opportunity to affect people in such a way that it changes their lives and mine.
