We were lucky to catch up with Kiana Aletaha recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kiana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?
That’s a wonderful experience to share! Selling my art for the first time in the studio i am continuing my art.on 2021 and 2022 and seeing someone appreciate and value my work enough to purchase it can be incredibly gratifying. It’s a validation of my talent and creativity, and it’s rewarding to know that my art has found a home where it’s cherished and enjoyed. This experience undoubtedly fuels my passion for creating and sharing my art with others.
Kiana, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My journey from Vancouver to Los Angeles and my transition from an accounting background to pursuing art through clay sculpting is a compelling story. how my husband’s encouragement and the opportunity to work with clay in a studio setting helped me overcome my initial stress and self-doubt. , despite lacking a formal art background, I quickly adapted and honed my skills, even progressing to the advanced class with guidance from my teacher. Highlighting my first inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci’s work adds depth to my artistic journey and showcases my evolving passion and talent in sculpting.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being an artist or creative is the ability to express myself authentically and connect with others on a deeper level through my work. Creating something unique that resonates with people emotionally or intellectually can be incredibly fulfilling. Additionally, witnessing the impact my art has on others, whether it brings them joy, provokes thought, or evokes strong emotions, can be profoundly rewarding. Finally, the continuous process of growth and self-discovery as I explore new techniques, ideas, and mediums can provide a sense of fulfillment and purpose in my creative journey.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My purpose in my creative journeys by aiming to evoke emotions, provoke thought, spark change, share my perspectives seek to inspire others and understanding, or challenge societal norms through art. Ultimately, My goals and missions are deeply personal and reflect my individual passions, values, and aspirations.
