We recently connected with Kiameshea Prewitt and have shared our conversation below.
Kiameshea , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
We go beyond stewardship and financial strategy to help our clients get to the root of their financial concerns. We believe that financial freedom starts with spiritual freedom and healing guided by the Holy Spirit. Then we move on to our client’s money mindset, and lastly practical action steps like budgeting and building savings. If we skip the step of spiritual freedom and healing, then I have found that people end up back in the same situation. Their financial freedom doesn’t last very long. This creates an unhealthy cycle that no one wants to be in.

Kiameshea , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Kiameshea (ky-me-che) Prewitt, and my clients call me “KP”. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, but have lived all over the Southeast due to my husband’s military career. However, soon we will be moving back to the Dallas, Tx area. We have been married for about 9 years and have two children, Makayla (7) and Jave (5).
I grew up in a middle-class family where my dad was a police officer and my mom worked in customer service. Other than Monopoly being my favorite game growing up I don’t know how I ended up in the personal finance industry. Sure in college were at national and regional banks for about 3 years, but I’m still not sure where the connection is.
So the only explanation is that I ended up in the personal finance industry because that’s where God wanted me to be. I had dreams of being a big-shot entertainment business manager in Nashville or New York. But God had other plans. I was able to see a need to serve the everyday average family in the personal finances. So I did for several years at my local church as a Financial Peace University coordinator. I later attended and graduated from the Ramsey Solutions Master Financial Coaching program. I realized that teaching personal finances through the lens of biblical principles was appealing to me. I was passionate about it. So soon after the coaching program in 2016, I started Tower Above Financial Coaching. For two years I focused on working with families, but then I stepped away from the business. I simply wasn’t making enough to sustain the business and started to think I heard God wrong. I went down other avenues but always ended back up at personal finances. Eventually, I applied to the FINRA Fellows Military Spouse program and on my second try was awarded a scholarship for study materials to sit for the nationally Accredited Financial Counselor certification exam through the AFCPE. This opportunity led me to work for the military as a financial counselor so that I could gain experience hours for the AFC credential.
In January 2020, I sat for the accreditation exam and passed on my first try. I continued to work for the military until I was presented with the opportunity to work for a FinTech company and assist with building their financial coaching program. While working for this company a new passion was birth.
In the Fall of 2021, I participated in a 10-day Daniel fast with a group of ladies. During that fast God was very interested in speaking to me about Tower Above. At least 5 years had passed since I had stepped away from Tower Above, but God was ready to breathe new life into it. Also during this fast, God revealed to me why Tower Above was not profitable the first time around. He said He could not allow me to build a business that was meant to help His people experience financial freedom while I operated out of a poverty and lack mindset. How can I free people in an area where I haven’t fully experienced freedom? Even though my husband and I were debt-free. We paid off $20k in debt in 2 years, but we were not spiritually and emotionally financially free. At least not yet.
At that very moment, God started to reveal what I now call “unproductive money mindsets” that were keeping me from being successful in business and ultimately generating wealth. Which were a poverty mindset, false humility, seeing wealth as evil, and unhealthy emotional money ties. God freed me from all four of these “unproductive money mindsets” at that moment.
A couple of weeks later I did something I had never done before. I went LIVE on IG to teach an 8-day IG series on “Unproductive Money Mindsets”, which I believe is still on my IG today. This IG led to being invited to other communities to share about the “unproductive money mindsets”. I soon was accepted into Crieghton University’s Behavioral Financial & Financial Psychology program, which confirmed and gave more language to what God had revealed to me. I was exposed to the science behind the revelation.
Fast forward to the next year on January 11, 2022, Tower Above Financial Solutions, LLC was reformed. Four months later I left my well-paying job to help Kingdom leaders, influencers, and business owners truly experience financial freedom.
Tower Above Financial Solutions, LLC exists to heal the Kingdom citizens’ relationship with wealth and position them to receive God’s strategy and wisdom for their increase. We focus on serving leaders and business owners for two reasons. 1) They have grit and will apply the teaching. 2) they are in a position to teach others what we have taught them.
We walk our clients through holistic Kingdom Financial Wellness, by helping them deal with the spirit, mind, and behaviors. We do this through our online academy and in-person/virtual events. We also provide financial wellness coaching packages.
God has called me to raise Kingdom Financiers and that’s what I’m doing, with His help of course.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me is word of mouth or speaking engagements. For this reason, Tower Above often hosts virtual events and I attend many in-person events, whether I’m speaking and/or vending. My unique approach to financial wellness is best presented in a personable environment.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I host “Prayer for Your Finances with KP” every Friday morning at 5:45 AM EST. This is a prayer call specifically for faith-based business owners to learn how to walk in their God-given power, authority, and dominion over their finances. This is a great starting place for those interested in working with me but want to get familiar with me first. However, I have found that past clients hop on the calls as well. The weekly prayer calls have organically created a powerful community of faith-based business owners.
