We were lucky to catch up with Khylee Almond recently and have shared our conversation below.
Khylee, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
So back in high school I remember as a freshman always hearing about the talent shows. Now I would sing sound the house as a kid for my mom and siblings all the time but never have I don’t it infront of a crowd. Music is like my child I am very passionate about it so next year as soon as auditions for the talent show we’re open I signed up, pen shaking in my hand and all. But no one prepared me for the rush you get when you’re on that stage pouring your heart out. It’s incredible and that’s when I knew I had to do this forever, and maybe find a way to make money while doing it .

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Now I am 23 years old. I am a completely self established artist at the moment with a few singles here and there but mostly I myself am still learning the ins and outs of the industry. It’s true though when they say that you have to be consistent, that I’ve learned. Failing victim to pushing my own work back or withholding music from my listeners just because I always wanted it to sound bigger and better or fighting with the different schedules of multiple producers and engineers I realized I had to stop finding excuses and put in the necessary work to take myself to the next level.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
It’s definitely got to be connecting with an audience and not only that but having someone give feedback or even accept and receive something that you’ve been working on for so long. That’s how I feel about music, blood sweat and tears go into each song wether it be a happier tempo or something slow and soulful. There’s no better reward.

: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I have a personal goal to work and connect with as many fresh young artists like myself, especially newer ones. These generations have a lot to offer which has been proven time and time again unfortunately I’ve noticed that because of us having the status of “new” us artist aren’t being utilized as much as we should and I’m planning on changing that.
