We recently connected with Khiya Braxton and have shared our conversation below.

Khiya, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?

Yes I am happier as a business owner. Being a entrepreneur has had its ups and downs but I am much happier than when I worked as a chef for 18 years. With all long hours I was never home. I barely spend time with my family. I was overweight stressed and unhappy .Since starting my business have a better quality of life. No more work long hours. I get to enjoy my kids, stress less overall and I’m more healthier than when I was working a regular job.

Khiya, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I got into this business of Holistic health by doing a 7 day seamoss fast. I ask God and the universe what my next step in life was, I like what is my purpose. While transitioning from the kitchen, the company I worked for lost the contract at the Coppin State University. They wanted to transfer me to Delaware University and I didn’t want to relocate to another state where I didn’t know anyone. It would have been just be me and my children plus working the same long hours, that wouldn’t have been fair to them especially if we were in a different state with no family support. So I posted my results, how is feeling, what I was doing while I was fasting which then turned into KrownMoss. KrownMoss started with just seamoss gel and now has evolved into a whole holistic business ( meditations and crystals).

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.

Our seamoss product is not outsource it’s make myself …the cleaning and soaking, to the jarring, labeling, shipping etc. No use of a manufacturer or a vendor to make the product that way I can ensure the freshness of the product especially when shipping.When receiving an online order it takes a day to process and then it will ship within 2 to 3 days. A lesson I’ve learned while manufacturing product is when there’s a shortage of jars during the canning season can be a bit challenging as well as when there’s an influx in sales and a large amount has be to produced.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I think what helped to build KrownMoss reputation to be honest was being genuine with my clients giving them the knowledge about the benefits Seamoss alternative health and wellness. Posted on social media had lot to do with it. Also I want to contribute my reputation to Sonia and Damon Speaks at the house of diamonds who also sell my products along with other natural health products for local entrepreneurs in Baltimore.
