We were lucky to catch up with Khalyssa Raechelle recently and have shared our conversation below.
Khalyssa, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
My entire life, my family and friends have encouraged me to get in front of a camera, microphone, and stage at a very young age. As a kid I would get the neighborhood kids together and host talent shows in my backyard, and during the summer my cousins and I would pretend we were pop stars and make up a dance routine and preform it in front of our family. My gift has always been bringing people together and creating a safe space for people to be themselves.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, my name is Khalyssa Raechelle. My close friends and family call me Issy. I am a content creator and creative visionary from Long Beach, CA and I am currently now residing in Houston, TX.
My journey into the creative world started at young age and I quickly realized my voice and gift of gab is powerful because it brings people together. After highschool, I moved to Los Angeles to attend CSULA to pursue a degree in fashion merchandising. I began networking in city and I started to meet other creatives such as DJs, MCs, and designers. I would host networking parties in my backyard in LA to introduce creatives to other creatives because I knew that if I saw something special in someone chances are someone else would too and these people could meet and create something even more amazing.
I specialize in lifestyle, travel, vlogs, and podcasts. I consider myself a micro influencer and I am willing to learn any and everything about content creating.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and my work, it’s that I believe creativity is a form of self care. The more creative you are the more you pour into yourself to continue to grow and become a better version of yourself.
Whether you’re here as a collaborator, a supporter, or someone just exploring, thank you for being part of this journey.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the deep sense of fulfillment that comes from self expression and connection. I love the feeling of creating something from my imagination and seeing it resonate with others. Being creative allows me to process emotions, experiences, and thoughts in a way that words alone often can’t and it’s comforting to know that I am helping someone feel seen with my art.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal as a creator is to use my art as a journey inward, for personal healing, growth, and self discovery to speak my truth and to make the invisible visible. whether that’s an emotional truth, a social reality, or a universal human experience.
