Alright, Khadija thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.

Success on the Spectrum stands out amongst other ABA centers! We are the only center that has cameras located throughout the entire space with a Parent Viewing Room to allow parents the option to come in and watch their child receive therapy. This level of transparency is unlike any other ABA center; it gives parents the peace of mind, especially amongst non-verbal children, to view how therapy is conducted and how their child is doing! Furthermore, Success on the Spectrum is big on community outreach and involvement! We are required to host a community outreach program every quarter, which include workshops, sensory friendly programs, and even Autism Prom and festivals. Success on the Spectrum understands the need for autism parents to be part of a community, and allows their children to participate in activities just as any other child would! Lastly, Success on the Spectrum promotes active parent-center engagement, with weekly parent trainings. These trainings are designed to teach parents the same therapy protocols the children use in the center! Utilizing our camera system and under the direction of our behavior analyst, parents receive one-on-one instruction on how to reinforce positive behaviors and minimize problem behaviors at home!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I have always been drawn to the field of disability studies and special needs! I completed my bachelors in Psychology and Disability studies, and my Masters in Special Education, knowing that my passion is within this field. Upon graduation, I came across Success on the Spectrum and instantly fell in love with the passion and drive that echoes throughout their centers! The level of commitment and care for families sets the standard for how I want to give back to the autism community. Success on the Spectrum offers 1:1 ABA Therapy to children aged 18 months to 18 years: we believe that children with autism do not magically “graduate” from ABA after a certain age. We understand that these children may require services at any given point in time, and thus, offer services to anyone with an autism diagnosis! What I want autism parents to know is that our level of commitment to your child can be seen on every level: from our caring staff to our community outreach, and to you as a support system! Just know that at Success on the Spectrum, your child is in great care!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Resilience is the middle name of every woman, especially entrepreneurial moms! I have twins, and a month after opening my center, I welcomed my rainbow baby! It has been a whirlwind but I believe that every woman has been given an unbelievable amount of power and resilience. When we are set on a specific goal, we will do whatever it takes to reach it! This business has proven that power comes from determination and will, and we as moms will climb mountains if need be!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Our Facebook page has a great following, and I believe it stems from putting yourself out there and being vulnerable with the world! We are also consistent with our posts, bringing content from all of our events, adding “feel good” images and articles as well. We know that having a child on the spectrum can be isolating, so we seek to make our Facebook page as welcoming, inviting, and relatable as possible.
