Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kezia Alford. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Kezia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

When I was around 26. I knew I wanted to be a Singer/Songwriter and Recording artist. At the time , I was only singing in a church setting but I knew in order to tap into my call of an Evangelist even more, I had to create music that could quickly go around the world to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Getting outside of the walls of the church. As I grew in my career, the more I understood the business side of music as well as ministry.

Kezia , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Well, I love to start off letting folks know I am from Mississippi and very proud! Currently live in the Atlanta, Ga area. I love singing and all things ministry. I believe in singing the scripture, that represents the truth and word of God. This is how people will be free, by His word. Being a tool for JESUS is so satisfying. I am an advocate for people walking in purpose!

I’ve been married to a wonderful man of God for almost 15 years and have 2 sons.
I love being a wife and Mom. Family is dear to the heart of God and I’ve learned to be balanced while having a music career and everything else.
I have a TV/podcast show called A Woman’s Journey that gives women a platform to share their story with the word and bring encouragement to other women.
I have a women’s ministry and conference for over 15 years called P31 Power In Purpose Women’s Conference and created a Proverbs 31 Woman tshirt line that grew over the years.

Going back to music, I love collaborating and writing for others. My strong area is arranging. Nashville is like my second home. This is where I do most of my work.

What sets me a part from others is that I just have my own flow. I am not in the box. I just GO WITH GOD! And it’s so freeing!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

My most rewarding is seeing people give their heart to Jesus and when repentance come by singing the word of God in a LIVE atmosphere. Boy, that’s the best!!

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

I wish I had known more about the business of music and recording process
