We recently connected with Keyvous and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Keyvous thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
The legacy that I’m building is one that will hopefully assist the artists that come after me, in learning how to build the structured foundation that’s needed to be successful. Though success can be looked at in many ways, being able to formulate plans and achieve goals is something I focus on. I feel that after I’m gone, people will say that I was sincere, honest, and always worked diligently to keep my word. I hope I am remembered as a person who cared about making others better. That I taught people things that helped their life journey, in some way.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was raised in Venice and South Central, CA for much of my younger years. My single mother moved me to the San Fernando Valley when I was still school-age, in search of an easier future. Anxious to get into live performing, I auditioned and appeared in school plays and talent shows every chance I had.
At age 11, I found myself alongside childhood friends Robin Thicke, Brian Austin Greene and Adam Swartz, in which we formed a group called “Think Twice”. I wrote, sang, rapped and danced. The group performed at numerous celebrity parties in the thriving Hollywood scene.
I embarked on my first international tour with the group “The League” with members Mike Kasem, and the late Sam Sarpong. I followed up with another international tour, this time with the group “Leon Rockmore” which included members DJ P-Trix, Ribkat, and music producer Nice. The Coors Light tour festival in Asia along with the other international tour were both highly successful. The international crowds often were large with over fifty thousand screaming fans.
I am committed to mastering my craft, evolving my music, and have been releasing a steady flow of music as an independent recording artist. My latest single is C.A.W (Catch a Wave) under the label Street People Records.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Being able to come from a place of poverty and stay focused on my dreams through planning, learning, discipline and a strong work ethic. That is what has given me the drive that has kept me resilient. I’ve been able to see things and places I was told I would never see.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
There is no one way to build an audience, as each person does it differently, but consistency is the Key for most who have had success doing so.
