Keyva, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I had been doing political work for nearly 10 years and was looking to do something different. After deciding to come back to Los Angeles, my career was feeling like it was starting from the bottom. I was working as a bi-coastal and doing some consulting work, but I wasn’t really sure where I wanted to go next.
One day, I was talking to a therapist about my situation and she suggested that I start my own business. I had never really considered it before, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it was something I wanted to do.
I started by talking to my partner about my brand. I also talked to a few mentors who had started their own businesses to get their advice. Once I had a good idea of what I wanted to do, I started putting together a business plan.
The next few months were a whirlwind of activity. I was working on my business plan, setting up my website, and networking with potential clients. I also had to figure out a lot of the legal and financial aspects of starting a business.
In the end, it took me about a year to go from idea to execution. It wasn’t easy, but it was definitely worth it. I launched my business in 2021 and it’s been growing ever since.

Sure, here is my answer to the question:
I am a political strategist and communications consultant. I help candidates, organizations, and businesses achieve their goals through strategic planning, messaging, and execution. My brand is me! Clark, which is how I got to HEY CLARK! I have been going by my last name for some time now and it kinda had a ring to it and I noticed how it was a conversation starter. I got my start in politics after working in politics and government for several years. I quickly realized that I had a passion for helping people achieve their goals, and I wanted to use my skills to make a difference.
I provide a variety of products and services, including:

I solve problems for my clients by helping them to:

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As a new and small political consulting business, our journey has been marked by resilience and determination to make a meaningful impact despite our challenges. One story that exemplifies our resilience involves a local campaign for a first-time candidate running for a city council seat.
In this particular race, our client faced numerous hurdles. The candidate had limited name recognition and a modest campaign budget and was up against an incumbent with strong community support. Additionally, the district had historically low voter turnout, making engaging and mobilizing the electorate even more challenging.
Undeterred by the circumstances, we leveraged our resourcefulness and creativity to devise a comprehensive campaign strategy. We focused on grassroots outreach, building a dedicated team of volunteers who were passionate about the candidate’s vision for positive change in the community.
We quickly adapted our campaign messaging to emphasize our candidate’s integrity, fresh perspective, and commitment to transparent governance. We organized community events and town halls to connect directly with voters, listening to their concerns and articulating our candidate’s solutions. Additionally, we seized moments to secure endorsements from influential community leaders.
Despite the odds stacked against us, our relentless efforts and ability to adapt helped us gain significant traction in the final weeks of the campaign. We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
As a new small political consulting business with only a handful of clients, we have encountered valuable lessons. One crucial lesson we had to unlearn was the assumption that a one-size-fits-all approach would work for every campaign.
We approached our clients’ campaigns early on with a predetermined set of strategies and tactics that we believed would yield positive results based on our previous experiences. However, we soon realized that each campaign and candidate is unique, requiring a tailored approach to connect with voters and achieve success effectively.
The backstory behind this lesson revolves around a local election campaign for a mayoral candidate in a diverse district. We initially relied on the same tried-and-true methods that had been successful in previous campaigns, including door-to-door canvassing and traditional media advertising.
However, despite our best efforts, we noticed a lack of resonance among the voters. The candidate’s message seemed to fall flat, and our campaign was struggling to gain traction. It became evident that we had to reassess our approach! This was our first lesson in unlearning the assumption that all strategies can be used on any campaign.
Taking a step back, we conducted an in-depth analysis of the district’s demographics, cultural nuances, and voter behavior. Through this process, we discovered that most of the district’s residents were highly active on social media platforms and engaged in online community forums to discuss local issues.
With this new understanding, we revamped our campaign strategy. We shifted our focus to digital media, utilizing targeted social media advertising, community engagement on online platforms, and influencer endorsements to effectively reach and connect with the voters.
The results were remarkable. The candidate’s message resonated with the electorate, and support began to surge. We witnessed a significant increase in online engagement, with voters actively discussing the candidate’s platform and sharing campaign content within their social circles.
This experience taught us the importance of unlearning assumptions and embracing adaptability. We recognized that successful political consulting requires a deep understanding of the specific dynamics of each campaign, including the target audience, cultural context, and technological trends. Tailoring our strategies to align with these factors proved instrumental in achieving tangible results.
