We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Keyshawn Gilbert a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Keyshawn, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Through building an overall brand you learn many things, not just about business.
You learn a lot about business yes, the ins and outs, but you learn even more about yourself more than anything.
It shows you who you really are and what kind of person you are, it opens your eyes to so many things you never really realized about yourself. It opens up new personalities and talents and also weaknesses but the beauty in it all is how the constant learning through trial builds you stronger.
You’ll begin to understand that a lot of things are attainable with the right mindset. From the knowledge I have attained throughout this process I have developed my brand to stand for those who are not afraid to brave the strong winds up the mountain. Those who grind in silence and need something to remind them that the process is worth it.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into my industry of Fashion through the need of wanting new clothes but not being able to always afford them. I had to remix my own clothes to be unrecognizable and through that people started wanting similar items. Ive always had an entrepeneurs spirit so it was natural for me to think of a way to turn this into a real business of some kind. I provide the services of fashion design as well as Mock-up/Logo creation and manufacturing facilitation. I help clients create the right design for there teams aesthetic to help convey who they are at the core. I also help clients conversate with manufactures and even facilitating the production of the product with said manufacturer. Through doing this I have become immensley proud of myself and evolving past what I thought my limits were. I work on my brand to show myself and others that it’s possible to build something of value from nothing but a natural need to create.
My brand is for those who. stand with unwavering courage throughout all the hardships in life and continue to pursue who they truly are and want.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Authenticity built my brand without a doubt. I cant tell you how many times I’ve been honest about my business and brand and my goals in life then it just translates into prosperity and growth for the brand. If people can understand the basics of your goal and vision with no smoke and mirrors it really means a lot.
I never had anything figured out all the way but I wasn’t scared to admit that and go find the answers needed and apply it.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Know the strengths and weaknesses of those around you so you can help place others around them with qualities that will balance not only the team but that member as well.
