Keylonda, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Crazy stuff happening is almost as certain as death and taxes – it’s technically “unexpected” but something unexpected happening is to be expected and so can you share a crazy story with our readers
I was doing a content shoot for a friend and she immediately loved the content. She talked about it with everyone in her building to the fact that the owner wanted to meet me. When I walked in the room, she hired me on the spot before we even had any formal introductions. I was in shock but happy so I had to play it cool. We went in the back room to chat and she said she just got a good vibe when I walked in and knew I was the right fit. Turns out, she had hired over 7 different marketing agencies and none of them brought results… I was so confused on how was that even possible. I did a deep dive into her digital presence, Instagram, TikTok, Google, Facebook… pretty much anywhere she should have a digital footprint.
She had little to no engagement with her social media accounts and I was still in shock on how this was possible after working with 7 different agencies. My team and I created a content plan and marketing plan for her business and within 14 days, we brought her in 27 leads and her engagement with up by 147%.
To say she was happy was an understatement. Her whole team was super happy and even the clientele loved the new social media content that it prompted them to try new services.

Hi, I’m Keylonda, but most people know me as “Keykey,” the mastermind behind Virtual Solutions by Keykey. My journey into the world of marketing and branding wasn’t the traditional route. I started with a degree in engineering, but life had other plans. After the onset of the COVID pandemic and a series of unexpected changes, I found myself needing to pivot. That’s when I discovered my passion for creativity and communication.
For the past eight years, I’ve had the honor of working with over 100 brands, helping them find their voice and grow through innovative marketing, sales strategies, and powerful communications. What I love most about my work is helping businesses transform their vision into reality through both online and offline marketing tactics.
At Virtual Solutions by Keykey, we offer a variety of services, including social media management, visual design, brand strategy, website development, and logo creation. We specialize in out-of-the-box content that resonates with audiences and drives organic engagement. One of my favorite aspects of my work is making people feel comfortable and confident on camera. I believe that the best content comes when clients feel relaxed and authentic, and it’s a joy to capture their true essence.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I started building my social media audience, I knew I wanted to create a brand that I could be proud of—something that was a true reflection of me and what I could offer to others. I spent a lot of time researching my own skills and understanding how I could use them to help other professionals. Once I honed in on those strengths, I developed my business around offering services that met their needs, like social media management, branding, and design.
The key to building my audience was sharing my journey and being real with my followers. I didn’t try to be something I wasn’t. Instead, I embraced who I am, and I let my audience see that through my content. It wasn’t an overnight success, but I learned that the best way to grow a loyal and engaged audience is to find unique ways to show your personality and build your personal brand. People want to connect with the person behind the brand, and that authenticity is what really draws them in.
For anyone just starting out, my advice is to focus on discovering what makes you different. Don’t just think about what services or products you offer—think about how your personality, your journey, and your perspective can add value. It’s also important to be patient. Building an audience takes time, but by consistently showing up, being true to yourself, and offering value, you’ll create a brand that resonates with people and draws in a loyal following.


What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
For me, it’s been a combination of two things: sharing valuable content on TikTok and word-of-mouth client referrals. TikTok has been a game-changer for me because it allows me to showcase my expertise, personality, and services in a way that’s engaging and easily accessible to a large audience. By consistently sharing tips, behind-the-scenes looks, and creative content, I’ve been able to reach new people who are interested in branding and social media management.
Client referrals have been equally important. When I deliver great results, my clients naturally want to share their experience with others. There’s nothing more powerful than a recommendation from someone who’s already benefited from your work. These referrals not only bring in new business but also help build trust with potential clients because they’re coming from a credible source. Together, TikTok content and client referrals have created a steady stream of growth for my business.
