We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kevin Stock. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kevin below.
Hi Kevin, thanks for joining us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I totally get where you’re coming from! Looking back, I do sometimes wish I had kicked off my creative painting journey a bit earlier. There’s this entire world of expression and fulfillment that I feel like I missed out on. But hey, life’s a journey, right? Each step brings its own lessons, and I’m just stoked to be on this artistic path now. Better late than never, they say!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Absolutely, happy to give you the lowdown on me and what I do.
I’m Kevin Stock, and my journey into creative painting is a bit of a rollercoaster. Picture this: a mix of passion, curiosity, and a dash of serendipity. I stumbled into this world because, honestly, it just felt like my thing – the perfect blend of what I love and what I’m good at.
In a nutshell, I’m all about artistic expression, as I’ve been writing poetry my whole life really. Whether it’s crafting with words or with paint, I’m in the game to create beauty in this world. It’s like my daily quest – finding a way to make someone’s life a little better, a little more enjoyable.
What sets me apart? Well, I like to think it’s a combo of creativity, dedication, and maybe a pinch of quirkiness. I’m not just about delivering a service; I’m about creating an experience. It’s not just a product; it’s a story, a journey.
Proud moment alert! One of the things that makes me do a happy dance is creating a piece of art that is completely different than what I envisioned at the start of the process. It’s a testament to the hard work, late nights, and a ton of coffee that goes into what I do.
So, what should you know about me? I’m not just here to do a job; I’m here to make a mark. Whether you’re a client, a follower, or a potential fan, I want you to know that when you view my art, you’re not just getting a painting – you’re getting a piece of my passion and a dash of my personality.
Cheers to making cool things happen!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Great question! For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the freedom to bring my imagination to life. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about turning a blank digital canvas, a piece of paper, or a blank screen into something unique and expressive. It’s like having a conversation with my own thoughts and feelings and being able to share that conversation with others. The ability to create something out of nothing, and to evoke emotions or provoke thoughts through my work, is what makes being an artist so incredibly gratifying.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
So, here’s the deal: I think non-creatives might find it tricky to grasp the rollercoaster of emotions we ride on. It’s like being on a constant loop of self-doubt, excitement, and a touch of madness. Some days I’m on cloud nine with a brilliant idea, and the next, I’m convinced I’ve hit rock bottom. It’s a wild ride!
Also, the whole “creative process” can be a bit mystifying. It’s not always a linear path from A to B. Sometimes, it’s more like a convoluted maze where you’re stumbling through the dark, hoping to find the light switch. But, strangely enough, that chaos is where the magic often happens.
And let’s not forget the struggle of explaining what we do to the non-artsy crowd. It’s not just about pretty paintings or beautiful poetry; it’s a method to the madness, a dance between chaos and order that might seem perplexing to outsiders. We’re not just playing with colors or words – we’re weaving stories, emotions, and sometimes, a bit of our soul into our work.
So, my advice to anyone trying to understand the creative journey? Embrace the messiness, celebrate the highs, and be patient with the lows. It’s a crazy ride, but there’s beauty in the chaos.
