We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kevin Reyes. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kevin below.
Hi Kevin, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
The biggest risk I took was going full-time into real estate, with no mentor to guide me through the process. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, and the weight of that decision was heavy. But I was driven by a clear vision: to make my mark through social media marketing. Growing up, I’d been far more inspired by content creators on social media than by traditional TV. I’d seen how powerful platforms like Instagram and YouTube could be in building real connections and communities, so I felt this approach could set me apart in real estate.
Diving in without a mentor meant learning everything the hard way. I spent countless hours testing different strategies, experimenting with content types, and studying the algorithms to understand what resonated with people. It wasn’t just about listing homes but creating an engaging online experience. From high-quality visuals to tailored captions, I wanted to make real estate content that people actually looked forward to seeing.
The first year was tough. There were days I doubted if I could make it, especially without the safety net of a mentor. But I kept pushing, and slowly, my efforts started to pay off. I achieved over a million impressions, attracted clients who valued a fresh approach, and proved that social media could be a game-changer in real estate.
Today, I’m grateful I took that leap. That risk taught me resilience, creativity, and the importance of paving my own way. Going full-time without a mentor was challenging, but it was the best decision I could have made for my career.

Kevin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I originally started on the path to getting my contractor’s license, but after learning I was too young to qualify, I decided not to wait and dove into real estate instead. I specialize in working with homes that were previously on the market without success, bringing a fresh approach and renewed strategy to get them sold.
Using social media to market my business has become my signature. Growing up immersed in social media, I saw how powerful it could be for connecting with people and creating engaging experiences. I’ve built my approach around that same principle—showcasing homes in a way that grabs attention, connects with the right audience, and creates results.
What I’m most proud of is the difference this approach has made for my clients. Helping sellers who were initially discouraged by the market find success and home buyers finding their dream home is what drives me. My goal is always to make each client’s journey smoother, whether it’s their first, second or third real estate deal!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One story that stands out from my journey is the early struggle of finding my niche and building my business without a mentor. Originally, I had set my sights on becoming a licensed contractor, but since I wasn’t yet old enough to qualify. Instead of waiting, I decided to go after my real estate license and dive into the industry full-time.
The beginning was tough. Without a mentor to guide me, I had to rely on my own grit and creativity to figure things out. I chose social media as my primary tool for marketing, determined to bring fresh energy. There were countless late nights spent testing and refining my social media strategies, learning through trial and error what worked best. There were times I doubted my approach, especially when traditional methods were still the norm in real estate, but I kept pushing forward.
Over time, my persistence paid off. My social media started gaining traction, and I began helping clients achieve results they hadn’t thought possible. The journey taught me resilience in the face of uncertainty, and it reinforced the power of adapting and creating my own path. That early decision to keep going, even without a clear roadmap, has shaped my career and shown me that sometimes the best way forward is to trust yourself and keep moving.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building my audience on social media started with a simple idea: creating content that connects with people. Coming from a background where I grew up watching social media creators rather than traditional TV, I understood that the most engaging content tells a story and builds trust.
At first, it was a lot of trial and error. I experimented with different types of posts, from educational content to home tour videos. Consistency was key; I made sure to post valuable content regularly, engage with my followers, and constantly refine my approach based on feedback and engagement.
For those just starting out, my advice is to focus on building relationships over just promoting yourself. Be authentic, show who you are, and don’t be afraid to share the ups and downs—it’s what makes you relatable. Also, stay consistent and find a niche that truly excites you. Social media is about connecting, so the more you can bring your personality and expertise into your content, the more people will be drawn to what you offer.
