We recently connected with Kevin Pope and have shared our conversation below.
Kevin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is to make Disney related content for the true diehard Disney fans. I myself am a huge Disney fan, I grow up going to Disney World every summer with my family since I was 2 years old. Those are the best memories of my life and it has always been my dream to work for Disney or in some Disney related field.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I myself am a huge Disney fan, I grew up going to Disney World every summer with my family since I was 2 years old. Those are the best memories of my life and it has always been my dream to work for Disney or in some Disney related field. I started my Disney Instagram page in 2013 soley to post my Disney vacation photos. I wouldn’t get many likes or interactions but I was fine with that. I used my Instagram more to look at other peoples’ Disney photos and to think about my next trip. Living in Chicago that was the Disney magic I needed to make it through some rough days. I started making Disney TikToks and reels and that’s when my page grew in popularity and caused me to created a podcast as well. Disney has always been my escape, my happy place. Whether it was a bad day at work, stress in my personal life, or even worse, Disney was the place that was always there for me. In 2016, I was 26 years old and just met the girl of my dreams. A few weeks later I found out I had cancer. Listening to Disney podcasts help me get though those long sleepless nights. When I found out that I was in remission, the first thing I said was “I want to go to Disney.” Although my brand may not be the biggest, I’m proud of the content I provide and the relationships I’ve made within the Disney Instagram community.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to move to Florida and work for Disney or a Disney related field. It has been my goal since I was a kid to eventually move to Florida. Living in Chicago, the winters grow longer and colder each year. My fiancé also has the same goal now and together I believe we can achieve that. Once we’re down there, it will be easier for me to create more Disney content with the parks within driving distance. Ideally, I’d love to have my own brand as a blogger/podcaster. I am very passionate about my Disney podcast and helping spread some Disney magic.

How did you build your audience on social media?
During the early days of my Instagram page, I would just post pictures of my Disney trips. I wouldn’t get much interaction as they were just random pictures with no hashtags or background. Everything changed in 2020 with one TikTok that went viral. 2020 was a crazy year for everyone, and it was the first year since 1993 that I didn’t visit Disney World. I was at work, missing Disney as usual, when the news of a Splash Mountain boat sinking hit social media. I had just created a TikTok and decided to make a Disney video. That TikTok went viral. Every few seconds it seemed like I had 10 new likes and followers. That drove me to continue to make more Disney TikToks and Reels. My advice to those who are just starting out is to not get discouraged by low views or likes. If you truly believe you provided good relatable content, the views and followers will come. It may just take some time. You may have to post videos that you put a lot of time and effort into that get minimal views. You just have believe in yourself, believe in your brand, and keep pushing forward.
