We were lucky to catch up with Kevin Noyola recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kevin , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Taking risks can be scary, but it’s also how we learn and grow. As a Chicago food blogger, I believe that it’s important to be willing to step outside of my comfort zone and try new things. It’s the only way to create truly unique and memorable content for my audience. This relates to a story about my first food photo shoot, where I took my learned skills from the internet and took a risk to complete a shoot.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, and I’ve always loved food. My mom was a great cook, always ensuring we had delicious and nutritious meals on the table. I also loved to explore the many different restaurants in the area. One of the things that I love most about food blogging at Just Eat Up is that it allows me to connect with other people who share my passion for food. I’ve made some great friends through the food blogging community. I’ve also had the opportunity to collaborate with other bloggers and businesses, I’m most proud of working with various restaurants in Chicago and nearby suburbs such as Naperville, Elmhurst, Aurora, Glen Ellyn, & more. Being able to share my highlights for the atmosphere, menu, pricing, interior, and other details is important to me.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Just Eat Up’s main mission is to become one of the most resourceful guides on dining in Chicagoland areas. Right now we’re working on creating a complete neighborhood-style restaurant review hub. You’ll find the best places to eat and drink in other suburban areas in Illinois. Another goal for Just Eat Up is to elevate recipes that are trending on social media platforms and recreate them at your home.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I first started Just Eat Up food blog, I was so excited to share my love of food with others. I spent hours in the kitchen cooking and researching restaurants, and I loved taking photos of my recipes and experiences. I posted new recipes and restaurant reviews on my blog several times a week and started building a small but dedicated following. After taking a break from creating articles for a few times, I realized the workload it becomes to maintain multiple categories for topics such as recipes, restaurants reviews, events to do in Chicago, etc.
