We recently connected with Kevin James Bond and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin James, thanks for joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.

So, at my production company, Vocal Motion Pictures, we create video and film content. You can find a lot of production studios that will point a camera at you and your business and press record and call it a day. At Vocal Motion Pictures, me and my team focus on story first, uncovering what it is that really sticks about your business or about the project you’re working on, and homing in on that to understand it as best we can to help you craft a story that is compelling and riveting and will get the audience excited as hell about what you have to say. Vocal Motion Pictures excels at all aspects of video and film production from scripting, storyboarding, and pre-production planning, through principal photography, location scouting, crewing up, talent scouting and casting, all the to post-production video editing, sound design, and color grading. So, yeah we do things a bit differently, we’re in it for the long haul and to make videos, commercials, and films that people do not forget.

Kevin James, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Vocal Motion Pictures started at the bottom and are now starting to reach the top driven by a real obsession with telling compelling stories and making content that really entertains. We started out delivering voice over content, branched out into low budget video production, upgraded our cameras and lighting packages, and now we’re fully writing, preparing, and producing commercials, films, e-learning content, and really all manner of video and film content.

If you have a movie you want to make, a product you need a commercial for—whatever it is, you’ve got a story to tell. Now, not everyone can call themselves a skilled writer, and that’s fine! But at Vocal Motion Pictures, we always start with the story—and we ARE skilled writers. So, when we engage with a new client or are brought into a new project, we spend a huge amount of time in pre-production getting the story scripted and shaped and looking good before we get on set and start shooting.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Diversification has definitely been the most effective growth strategy for us. Our favorite thing to make is movies. Making movies is expensive and takes more than just money and cameras, too! Being a full-service creative production house, we don’t like to sit around waiting for work to come to us all the time. So, we write our own stories to make our own movies. Getting the funding for films comes from doing incredible work for our clients, the ones who support us.

We offer video production for any and all businesses. We do commercial scripting and video production for advertising, we do social media content creation, we do corporate videography, we do documentaries, event videography, voice overs, animation, and all manner of digital content creation.

It’s non-stop and we love the challenge.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

Always be listening. This is the best way to maintain morale and the best way to get the best. results from your team. Be open to trying things you didn’t think of. As a leader, you’ve got to delegate and take cues from everyone else on your team. Otherwise, what are you doing? The people we work with at Vocal Motion Pictures, the folks on our team, we are all here because we LOVE video and film, we love production, and we love making moving pictures—everyone has crazy awesome ideas and we don’t discount anything, no matter how off the wall it might seem. That’s what gotten us such success.
