We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kevin Iglesias . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kevin below.
Kevin , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
I wish I would have gotten into the business straight out of High School. I got into the Business when I was 26 years old. I had just got fired from my previous job but I promise it wasn’t my fault hahaha. Starting sooner would have helped me acquire a lot more Real Estate and achieve my goals much sooner. However, we can’t go back in time. Someone once told me at a meeting I attended that I got into the business too late. Hearing that sparked something inside of me. I thought to myself what if they’re right? Instead of letting it derail me off my path. I used it as motivation to keep hustling and achieve my goals sooner than later. I did just that. Kept my head down and my main goal was to help as many people as possible. Even though it’d be nice to be a lot younger doing what I’m doing at the current moment. I can’t go back in time to change things. God’s timing is perfect. I’m content and grateful.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who don’t know me. My name is Kevin Iglesias. I’m an Associate Real Estate Broker. I’ve been in the Real Estate Business since 2016. How did this all happen? Well, to be honest. I give my Wife majority of the credit. It was her idea that I get my license. She knows I’m good with people and good at sales. I knew absolutely nothing about Real Estate. I didn’t even know anybody in the business. I had just got fired though so I thought to myself I have nothing to lose. Sometimes in life our biggest losses are our biggest blessings.
After seeing my parents become homeowners in 2004. Before the market crashed. They always expressed how their agent let them down and misguided them. From the very start of my career my main focus was to help people. I didn’t want any family to feel what my parents felt. Homeownership should be exciting and fulfilling. After all it is The American Dream right?
What I provide to my clients is excellent service, problem solving, beyond the sale. I guide all my clients from start to finish. I genuinely put their interests first. This is a referral business. You do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do. The business and money will follow. What sets me apart from everybody else is my passion to help. Don’t get me wrong the moneys good, but the thank you’s and seeing your clients happy is priceless.
I’m most proud of the families I’ve been able to help. I’m proud of receiving many Awards in the industry. I’m top 10 at my company amongst 1,000+ Real Estate Agents. 2021 I was awarded Top 20 Under 40 by YPN/Long Island Board of Realtors. I’m in the Top Tier of the industry and I got here because of my passion to help. I give back to St. Jude’s charity yearly. I speak on many Stages/Panels to bring value to other Real Estate Professionals. Moral of the story I love to help, give back and inspire others.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
While working on getting my Real Estate License. I failed the state test twice and passed on my third try. I knew this business would not only change my life but my families life. I could have gave up the first time I failed or even the second time, lord knows I felt defeated. I didn’t give up though, I kept working. I knew I was going to pass it was just a matter of time. My hunger for wanting to better my families life and mine motivated me. I turn my struggles into my hustle. Failure has always fueled my fire. Name one successful person who hasn’t failed…. That’s right you can’t :)
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
I was selling a property in Far Rockaway, Queens. It was a referral from a previous client. The house was right next door to the house I had for sale. It was a big three family house. My biggest listing to date $955,888. It was a healthy commission check. I knew this wasn’t going to be easy but I was ready to work. Our first deal we accepted was a nightmare. A big delay for everything. Finally the appraisal gets completed and guess what? The value of the home came back at $800,000 – $155,888 lower than our asking price yikes! However, I studied the numbers carefully before listing. I knew the house was worth the value we were asking. I convinced my seller to kill the deal and walk away let’s get back on the market. The entire time I sat back and prayed. Prayed for the right deal to come along and guess what? Not even a month later we receive a full price offer. The new appraisal gets ordered. The appraisal comes back and the value comes in at $960,000 =O. If I was inexperienced, if I didn’t have the knowledge and expertise. My clients would have lost over $150,000+. I took a risk and it paid off. My sellers were more than happy. We even helped them purchase a house in Long Island. This is only one of my many victory stories. It matters who you hire! I always fight for my clients!!!
