We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kevin Gill. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kevin below.
Hi Kevin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
At a young age maybe around 12 years old I started drawing and developed the skill, once I saw the potential I had I felt this was the thing I wanted to do. Being able to be professionally known and being able to make income from this hobby really fueled the fire for me to continue arts for a career path.
Kevin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into the industry by just being creative and being involved, trying out different materials and techniques to help mold my skill as an artist. I tend to make works relating to Mental Health and music which are the main two sources of inspiration for my creative process. I also do tattoo illustrations and Graffiti which help widen my audience to expand my cliental and gain new skills. I’d have to mention that I have won multiple awards for my art as well as many participations in art fairs and many gallery showings, being proud of my work that started off as a hobby has developed into a way of living.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
It would have to be becoming a resource for other artists and clients. I was 13 when I started taking art seriously and really pursuing it as a career. As the dedication and hard work became routine it all eventually paid off since my hobby became my business, that had to be the most rewarding feeling to me.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
To comfortably support myself and my household solely from my work with no day job, the dream of most creatives. As well as becoming known for my work and the type of work I do to be up in the ranks with my favorites such as, Paul Booth, and Salvador Dali
