We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kevin Freeland a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kevin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
2 years ago I walked out on a very unhealthy job environment and did not work for 3 months. I woke up one morning with the idea to start tie dyeing to spread positivity and love through my art work. As I worked hard and put people first I noticed a growth in my family life as well as work life. 1 year after I started my tie dye business I was asked to run the market with my now business partner BIlly Meyer’s. We have now taken that small market to a weekly market of 60 or more vendors and a Facebook page that has had 587.000 views in in one month. Creating a space for small business owners to come and sell there products and on a weekly bases with increasing foot traffic. I am so thankful for everything in my life especially being able to help others.

Kevin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Kevin Freeland I am a tie dye artist, manager the Palm Coast Farmers Market, and do consulting for a few different companies for social media and marketing. I am 25 years old and thankful for the opportunities I have been given in my life to be able to facilitate and help people. Not just in their business but in their life. I make tie dye for fun to spread positivity to people through color and most like a great conversation. The market is what really allows me to help other with my skills in social media I was able to increase foot traffic to our market by almost double. Allow our vendors to create income for their small businesses on a weekly basis. Since that moment the community has taken note of the changes I have made. Now I have receive multiple offers to run or teach social media and marketing all the way from small businesses to large corporations. This has all been achieved in less then 2 years. Thank you for reading I hope this can inspire you!
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
The one thing that has been most helpful for me is meeting people where they are at in life and remembering everyone is equal. With this moral in play you don’t fear the person with more knowledge or power and you never turn away the little man.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I was on my own at 16 and being 25 with a 3 year old, owning a house, 2 cars, a boat, 2 businesses and more on they way I think resilience is one of the reasons I got this far. People always look at me funny when I tell them how old I am after they have met me. Something I always remind my self is age is just a number don’t let it define you.
