We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kevin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kevin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Learning from my mistakes played a big factor during my learning process, time and time again looking back on what could I have done better and differently. Educating myself through YouTube videos to sharpen my skills especially with my editing on Adobe photoshop, I’m always spending hours on there trying to master the tools to make my work very effective. although I still have a lot to learn staying consistent is what will speed up the process. I spend so much time learning different ways to edit so I can make my work stand out, I feel like that’s the biggest factor in the photography industry because it attracts more clientele.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Im a professional photographer based in Miami, Florida and born in Brooklyn, New York. I take a different variety type of portraits like lifestyle, brands, studio, beach, boudoir and more. Photography is like a form of art to me in comparison to a painting, my work is vibrant and polished; Every portrait has its own storytelling behind it. I consider myself an artist I’ve always been artistic in my own ways just non-stop creating and randomly picking up a camera just added more to my caliber, once I realized it was another form of art I’ve gravitated deep in photography. I’ve worked with some amazing models along the way who’s helped me enjoy photography and appreciate my work every time. They love how I capture angles and take time with my editing as I strive to give them what they pay for, I never want to make someone feel like they’ve wasted their own money and time when it comes to my photography services. I believe what really sets me apart from others is just the versatility of what I’m able to capture. In this moment I’m just proud of not giving up, being a motivated photographer/artist is not easy because you just want to be the best at what you do and I consider myself a perfectionist so my standards/expectations of myself is really high. Im all about quality and precision with it comes to my work, when you book with me you’ll get just that and even more.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building an audience on social media takes a lot of patience especially when it comes to instagram. You’ll need to market everyday and just never stop when it comes to putting your brand out there because even when your not getting the interactions you want people are always watching.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Professionalism with great integrity has helped me a long way in the photography industry. I feel like having a good face is far more important than everything especially if you’re striving to get far in what you do.
