Ayesha, combining her real estate knowledge and passion for community development, complements the team with her sales and marketing skills. We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

In 2019, Park Street Homes faced a defining moment of resilience. Confronted with a staggering loss of over $300,000 due to lower appraisals and the devaluation of inner-city neighborhoods we were developing in, we reached a critical juncture. This challenge compelled us to pivot our business strategy significantly. We transitioned our focus towards new construction, a move that not only helped us recover from the financial setback but also positioned us to better serve the evolving needs of urban communities. This experience underscored our adaptability and commitment to finding innovative solutions in the face of adversity.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

Ayesha and I had to unlearn the notion that the safest and most respectable path is to follow a conventional career trajectory. Our upbringing, deeply rooted in communities where entrepreneurship wasn’t widely encouraged, initially instilled in us a sense of security in the traditional approach of securing a good job and working towards retirement. Overcoming this ingrained fear was a monumental step. It required immense courage to shift away from this familiar mindset and venture into the uncertainties and rewards of entrepreneurship. Our decision to embrace this change has been transformative, reshaping not just our careers but our entire outlook on potential and success.
