We recently connected with Keturah Holmes and have shared our conversation below.
Keturah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
We pride our self on the idea that we made a quality product from all natural Simple ingredients.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Keturah Holmes the owner of Love Made By Keturah LLC . I never really had any interest in skincare until I decided that I wanted to treat my body better and why not start with the body’s largest organ. I started paying attention to what ingredients are used in most body care products and I didn’t like what I saw. I then began to make my own personal products from Simple natural ingredients. From there I began make products for friends and family and we started receiving more and more orders each week. We pride ourselves on make a quality product from Simple ingredients with the idea that we should feed our skin like we feed our bodies. What set us apart is that we truly love and care for every one of our customers every customer receive a hand made product that was crafted with love and you in mind.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I know this sounds old fashion but word of mouth is best way to build clientele people listen to people they trust and if you have a quality product that product will speak for its self. We do use other strategies to build our clientele for example we often get invited to sell products at event which is an excellent opportunity for us to interact with customers and create relationships to build new customers and business opportunities.
Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the best lessons I learned not only in business but in life is the idea of being flexible enough to pivot when things don’t go the way you planned. Sometimes we get so catch up in things not working out the way we planned and we think that we shouldn’t be doing that thing we have been called to. My first batches of body butter were not good but I keep working at it and adjusting the recipe until I final got a product that that fit the vision but just because it didn’t work out as planned the first time doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be doing that thing you may need to just hit it from a different angle. So have grace for yourself and get a different perspective and pivot.
