We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Keturah Ballard. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Keturah below.
Keturah , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
Shaboree and I met when we were 7 years old as neighbors , schoolmate and doing activities together such as cheering , dancing and karate. As we got older, we found one thing that we had in common and that was enjoying a good event. We would each individually create social events for our friends and families and even curated out of state birthday parties to bring people together. As people attended our events they would always compliment how great of a job we did , the decor being magnificent even down to the small details such as DIY party favors and centerpieces. As we continued to get inquirers we decided to join forces to open an event planning and interior design business. Within the year we have accomplished 26 events including baby showers, dinner parties , catering events, corporate events , charity events, business collaborations, bridal showers, home-staging and much more. Now the good has outweighed the bad however we did come across some challenges such as glass breaking, tents blowing away and even vendors coming late as well as learning the financial aspect of running a business. But that is why we are relentless because we always prevail and overcome. As we approach our 1 year anniversary we look forward to expansion of more partnerships and home improvement projects.
